Recently my friend got hacked and lost most of social media accounts as somebody posted altcoin scams on his profile. He has 2FA enabled and uses password manager religiously, so he was confused how that even happened. What are some things I should implement to make sure this doesn't happen to me?

I've heard that NordVPN and Surfshark have discounts around black friday, but that's so far away and I need something that works now. Google just throws me a bunch of sites with outdated codes, so that's why I am asking here.
I am looking for deals/coupons for premium VPNs that actually offer fast speeds and have decent security. ProtonVPN would be another good choice (if I could get it on a discount).
