Hello from Vancouver! Just sharing my new course design. Cheers! 🇨🇦☀️✌🏽
This is a follow up to another tropical themed course that I released earlier this summer Protective Palms GC. The feedback was mostly all positive except for a few that found the length to be too long on a few par 4’s. And a few pin placements too close to hazards. Something that I totally agree with on both accounts. And by having that transparent dialogue between designers and players I think as designers we end up designing better courses for everyone.
On this track I shortened the length on many holes. Removed obstacles to make lower scores more attainable. However… I did keep my signature vibe and stayed in my “designing lane”. And that means setting up the course at dawn to play with lighting and shadows and water reflections. And a handful of holes that still have my elevated tee boxes to give you a bird’s eye view of the entire course below you. On many holes there are different paths and routes and “shortcuts” to the green, so from the tee boxes look around for various landing zones and not just play the tee shot that the game automatically sets up for you. One of the biggest challenges from dramatic elevation changes and people that might set up for their own impossible challenge conditions with wind is finding all the wayward unplayable lies that can be a result of that so I played dozens of time with high wind and pro level to hopefully have placed out of bounds zones throughout the course.
There are many risk reward shots throughout the course but not always off the tee box. You can try to get that birdie or even eagle but at the same time you can easily bogey or double bogey if you miss your risk shot. For example on hole 2 you can easily get a birdie or par. But if you go for it you can possibly albatross that hole as I did many times myself. And that is the case for a few holes. No more so than on the final hole. If you get maximum length off the tee on the correct fairway and then hit that second shot just right you have the ability to end your round with a true highlight of your entire round.
I always play at amateur with all assistance help on. So I was not aware of many of you better skilled players that don’t have scout cam or can see landing spots which explains the need of doing math to calculate flight path of your golf ball in flight. So I tried to make most of the more challenging tee boxes all driver friendly to simplify things. But at Impossible Challenge settings you can throw that all out the window I guess. lol
I tried to create every hole with uniqueness from the rest on this track so that it’s challenging, memorable and most of all fun. If you are looking for a mostly flat, full sun and cookie cutter course, then this track is not for you. As the legendary MP said on his first course of mine that he showcased on his channel back in the day, was that I’m a designer that straddles that fine line between fun fantasy heights but based in realism throughout. Therefore staying in my comfortable “designing lane” that I hope sets my unique course layouts apart from everyone else. Enjoy your round on Tectonic Temples GC everyone!
Cheers from hot and sunny Vancouver!
And appreciative of everyone that has played my course, shared a comment or watched their videos. Cheers from rainy Vancouver this morning! ✌🏽🇨🇦
Curious to know if you had the choice would you prefer to have the BC Lions get ownership of the BC Place and perhaps resulting in the Vancouver Whitecaps having to leave town? Or the Whitecaps get ownership and stay with long term viability until a new stadium can be built? I have lived in BC my entire life of 48 years and could not care less if the BC Lions had to relocate but understand their strong and passionate fan base. Personally I’ve played soccer my entire life and at long time supporter of the Whitecaps since their 86’s branding. So I could only have my city support or financially assist one team it would be the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Grateful for this homie’s Impossible Challenge played in my Protective Palms track this AM.
Big shout out and tons of gratitude for the first wave of dope YouTubers that have chosen to showcase and play my newest course Protective Palms GC. Much love for them and the entire social media community. Cheers from Vancouver!
I have been interested in designing a course that was different from my past layouts with constant dramatic elevation changes set in the mountains. About two months ago, at a local hospital that I volunteer with their cancer clinic I had a brave and courageous older gentleman from the island of Grenada asked me if I would try to attempt to design a course that had the same tropical feel and had a few replica holes from his home course using some photos he brought in for me. So I tried my best to mix his photos with a Carribean vibe but still with some elements that I’m familiar with from my past designs. So I tried a new theme but still set at dawn, as I enjoy the challenges of designing a course with shadows, water reflections and unique sunshine effects coming through the trees and hitting the fairways and greens just right. I got to experiment with new plants and trees and terrain textures also. I have not forgotten my Canadian Pacific Wilderness vibes and will return with my next track at the end of summer. As always I appreciate everyone’s plays and welcome transparent feedback once played. Cheers from beautiful Vancouver and a big shoutout to all those that are presently fighting cancer around the globe. Keep on fighting homies!
Hello there. Attending the World Cup game tomorrow July 2nd. Having our pre match dinner at Craft at 4pm and then walk to stadium. Does street parking in that area have time limits or can anyone suggest a safe place to park from 4 to 10pm near Craft in Olympic Village. Thank you.
The hunt is finally over. Today I got my personal grail… the LeBron 8 South Beach. The one pair I chased, wanted, and needed in the collection. Now it’s home where it belongs. My collection will keep growing no doubt, but this feeling today? Complete. Salute to all the homies who understand that some kicks ain’t just sneakers, are bigger than the box they came in cause they’re chapters in the story. Every pair got a memory, every hunt got a lesson, and every grail marks a milestone on the journey. Almost two decades later, the grail touched down, and the collection finally feels complete.
Broken Bluff GC is now open homies! Personally as a designer I try to create courses that stay in my unique lane on the border of fantasy heights but based on realism west coast Canadian wilderness vibes where I personally live. But I am someone that also builds to excite those that support my courses and get my vibe. So I read through every single comment and messages on social media. And then reply to each of them. I also took the real time feedback from YouTubers that showcased my courses on their channel. And my homies that played along side me in person and group chats. So I listened and reacted. This course has more dramatic almost cinematic elevated tee boxes. More hidden preferable landing spots from those tees. Yet provided helicopters to get to those cloud high tees and then back down to those ocean side coastal greens. Or power boats to get to those secluded water only accessible greens. I added more colorful plants to break up all the greens and browns from the course. I added more wildlife. More driveable par 4’s. More reachable par 5’s. More water in play to make those risk reward holes more challenging. I get it, my courses aren’t for everyone. All good homies! I accept that and not offended in the least. I try and prioritize memorable moments and fun over strict simulation realism. And that will be obvious straight off the jump on this track. I am designing for people who connect with my vibes. So to those that enjoy my fun courses I hope that this one continues in that line of enjoyable fun rounds. Cheers from beautiful VanCity! ☀️🇨🇦✌🏽

Hello! Doing a 14 day Caribbean cruise this winter, stopping at 8 different islands. Would love to rent a car for my wife and I, to truly see most of the island. They are St Thomas, Antigua, San Juan, Barbados, Grenada, St Maarten and Dominica. Which ones have the most travel available stops to make the rental worth the cost and which ones are better off taxi or excursions. Thank you.
