ACOMAF Discussion: Part Two

Welcome to the second rage-fuelled discussion of A Court of Mist and Fury!

This time we are discussing chapters 36 - 69, so let’s hear it: the good, the bad, the wtf? Are there any redeeming qualities? How many times did Feyre make you roll your eyes? Do you think Rhys is more of a Tuxedo Mask or a Howl? Which Archeron sister do you hate the least?

Gentle reminder that some sloopys will probably enjoy this series, and we won’t judge them for that. Just because they’re wrong, doesn’t mean they can’t hang out with us.

TCOGB Discussion: Part Two

Welcome to the second rage-fuelled discussion of The Crown of Gilded Bones!

This time we are discussing chapters 22-50, so let’s hear it: the good, the bad, the wtf? Are there any redeeming qualities? Who makes you want to bash your head against the wall the least? How many times did you almost DNF it? And most importantly: do you have the strength to go on?

Gentle reminder that some sloopys will probably enjoy this series, and we won’t judge them for that. Just because they’re wrong, doesn’t mean they can’t hang out with us.

Week Three Discussion: Chapter 13 - 18

Welcome to the next weekly discussion for our Rage Read book of the month: Twilight!

This week, we are discussing up to chapter 18. If you've read past that or previously read the book in its entirety, please try to avoid spoilers for those who haven't. If you're unsure if something is a spoiler or not, please use the spoiler function in your comment.

^(To use the spoiler tag, please put > ! these symbols ! < on either side of your spoiler but without the spaces between characters.)

We want to hear it all! The good (is there any?), the bad (every little pet peeve), and the ugly (the snarkier the better).

Just a reminder: while this may be a rage read, some people will absolutely end up enjoying this book, please don't bully or downvote people who feel differently than you do.

Alright Rage Goblins, for our first themed read, winning by ONE vote, y'all picked

MANTASY

If you're wondering wtf is mantasy? Honestly, same. But for the sake of this months nominations, we're looking for romantasy written by a man (even if it's under a pen name).

So please comment your nominations for the next Rage Read!

Please:
—read through all the comments before making a suggestion (any duplicate suggestions will get deleted, and therefore any upvotes on that comment won't count)
—only suggest one book per comment (but you can comment as many times/suggest as many books as you want)
—keep suggestions within the romantasy genre or similar/adjacent genres (anything without at least SOME fantastical, mystical, or magical element alongside the romance will get deleted)
upvote the books you WANT to rage read, downvote the books you DON'T want to rage read (you can up/downvote as many times as you want)
—tie breakers will be resolved alphabetically by author last name
—the 6 books with the highest upvotes will be on the poll for next month (the poll will be live during the last week of the month)
—in the event of a tie during the poll, a 24 hour poll will go up with the tied titles in order to determine the winner
for this month only, any nomination by a female author will be deleted as that defeats the purpose of our theme

Please remember: this is not a discussion of if a particular book belongs on the list or not—reading is subjective and if a book gets picked that you love, you don't have to participate that month.

Alright Rage Goblins, it’s time to pick a theme!

June will be our first themed Rage Read, so this poll is to determine what it’s going to be. It’ll run for a week so that we can have as much time for input as possible, which also means the nomination post for June will go up a few days late.

I started with the most suggested/upvoted options from the feedback & update posts, but feel free to make more suggestions in the comments of this post that I can pull from next time.

In the event of a tie, I’ll run a 24 hour poll to pick a final winner.

Twilight

by Stephanie Meyer

Each weekly discussion post will go up on Friday, but they will no longer be locked so that anyone joining the RRBC late can still participate. Please do not make your own post as we do not want to crowd the sub/flair with repeat posts.

These are the discussion dates for May:

Week 1: May 1st through May 7th, Chapter 1 - 6

Week 2: May 8th through May 14th, Chapters 7 - 12

Week 3: May 15th through May 21st, Chapters 13 - 18

Week 4: May 22nd through May 28th, Chapters 19 - 24 + epilogue

The poll for June will be posted during the last week of May with the winner posted on/around the 28th so that you have time to acquire a copy.
