Trying on Watches

I've recently "gotten into watches", but what I'm realizing is I don't know where I can actually try on some watches before buying. I'm not a Rolex, AP, or super expensive watch guy (yet!), so I'm looking for places I could try on Seiko, Orients, Omega, etc.

I'm in NYC for work tonight and tomorrow and I'd like to try on some watches if possible. Any suggestions of places that have a large watch selection that I could visit to try on some watches? I tried Watches on Switzerland in SoHo before, but you need to have an appointment. TIA

I'm sure others will agree with me. I hate "mowing the garden"! I want to spend time gardening and not mowing the paths.

In the past I put down cardboard EVERYWHERE and then straw mulch over that. And the grass came back! What's the permanent pathway solution that doesn't involve black plastic sheeting?

I'm too far into the spring to tackle this now, more of a fall project, so I have time to plan and prepare. TIA
