I've always wondered what would happen if a High Fantasy world (which is usually medieval or something similar) went through industrialization and modernization instead of staying medieval forever. Like, what would happen if a wizard fought a tank? Would dragons still be used for recon or bombing missions? Would magic affect technology or the other way around?

I've seen GATE, but that's modern-day Japan fighting a fantasy world. What I'm thinking is.. what if the fantasy world itself naturally moved into its own 1940s equivalent era?
