I wanted to see if anyone has gotten an exception to the ridiculous 10% rule. My situation: I've been an ADM for almost a year. A new store is opening for which everyone in my store is encouraging me to apply to the DM position, as I already do everything in my department and am very good at it. However, there is the rule that internal hires can only get a 10% raise, which would only be a little over $2/hr for me. My current DM makes $6/hr more than me for doing barely anything. I was told by my store manager I could ask for an exception to the 10% rule, but of course there is no guarantee it would be approved or that it would even be much higher, so I wanted to see if others have successfully received an exception!
