Cortef and T3/T4 are not absorbed at all.

Hello! I'm from another country, and my text will be translated. Addison's disease and hypothyroidism run in our family. I started taking Cortef a couple of months ago, very slowly, but it's helping. I've already gradually started walking, sometimes 9,000 steps. But this isn't about me. My father took thyroid hormones for two years and struggled with Addison's disease, and everything went away very quickly. He didn't notice any difference in doses, even high ones. The worst thing was that Cortef wasn't absorbed at all. It wasn't a stomach issue (he even tried dissolving 20 mg under his tongue at a time without taking it), and it didn't help. According to the test results, it seemed like the hormones were entering the bloodstream but not reaching the cells. He tried different pill regimens, different types of 3T/T4, combinations, but nothing helped. Frankly, the situation is very sad, and I need advice and experience from those who have faced something similar. In other words, the hormones help me, but they don't help him at all. In addition, I will say that he eats right, leads a healthy lifestyle, which is still possible given our illnesses, does not even consume sugar, and his iron levels are normal according to tests.

How quickly did you return to a full life despite Addison's disease with Cortef therapy?

Good day everyone! I'm from another country, and my text will be translated. How quickly did you return to a full life with Addison's disease? I've been taking hormones for a month and a half, adjusting the dosage, and so far I'm stuck with only enough for basic things around the house. For example, I can now clean and keep things tidy, wash my hair every other day instead of every five days, and sometimes go for a slow 30-minute walk. But I still can't go to the store; my maximum is 3,000 steps. I never even dreamed of this in recent years, but it's still not enough for a full life. I'm a 22-year-old woman, taking Cortef 12.5 in the morning, 5 at lunch, and 5 in the evening. I feel stuck. Tell me how much you take, and how long did it take you to feel, "Wow, I'm living a full life, I can go to work and live my life without fear."

Hello, unfortunately, I'm from another country, and my post will be translated. I'm a 21-year-old woman, 159 cm tall. I was never officially diagnosed because my blood counts were insufficient and they denied them, even though I've been unable to leave the house or work for the past year. Our problem runs in our family for three generations, but we only recently learned about it after two years of testing and a desire to find an answer. I started taking Cortef and am currently adjusting my dosage. I initially took 5 mg in the morning and 2.5 mg every three hours because I was experiencing setbacks, but this didn't sufficiently get me back on my feet. It was only enough for basic maintenance like washing my hair, maintaining a good mood, doing a few small chores, and lying down. Then I suddenly developed pyelonephritis (kidney inflammation), which I sometimes get, and my "stress dosage" increased to 45 mg per day (15 in the morning + 5 mg every 2 hours), but even so, I had severe drops in blood pressure three times a day. I drink 15 mg in the morning, an hour later my blood pressure drops to 93/52, I drink 5 mg at the moment of the drop, an hour later my blood pressure drops again, I drink 10 mg and it repeats again, like everything I drink into thin air. Does everyone take medications this often, and why might taking 2-3 times a day not be enough for me? I'm a newbie and really need advice to finally feel completely alive 🙏 I don't understand how much I should take per day without a stress-related need. How long did it take you to get back to normal life? Did you recover overnight or did it take time?

Update: I took 70 mg today. After a severe morning crash, I decided to take 5 mg every hour. It helped me wash my hair, listen to music, and shoot videos. I'm scared that I need so much and it doesn't fully bring me back to life. Everything revolves around taking a pill, otherwise my blood pressure will plummet. Anyone else experiencing this?
