Apparent Injured Canadian Goose
Apparent Injured goose not moving after standing within <3ft for ~20 minutes. Not moving body at all; periodically dips head into water but doesn't open bill to drink. Not frightened or reacting to my presence at all. Secreted some liquid green feces. His neck looks stiff so maybe it's broken or there are neurological issues?
Please advise. Tried calling DNR but wildlife services aren't open on the weekend and the 24/7 number is for poaching reports only. Calling a private rehab center and they said they cannot accept it right now because of elevated bird flu cases in Washtenaw Country (Michigan).
EDIT: Eventually got in contact with the local Humane Society. They said it sounded like bird flu (as helpful comments have also indicated!) and they got the City/County Animal Control to come euthanize it. Thank you everyone for the advice.
