does this shift too much?

wondering if this is a normal amount of shift or if I should be trying to tighten my stitches more. i haven't quite mastered the coptic stitch connection of the last cover/last signature so i wonder if that's where all my shift is coming from

am i screwed?

my punch holes are always super misaligned or some are better than others lol, i still haven't quite figured out how to get a straight line (with a template .. with a cradle ...) -- how screwed am i if i sew this? can i try to force it to be aligned somehow or are my signatures gonna all sit wonky when i'm done sewing?

decorative tape?

i'd like to try using cloth tape with an exposed spine but i'm not sure what's best to use, what might be too thick or what might be difficult to glue down? was just wondering if anyone would like to share their experiences or what they like to use.

feedback?

my first coptic stitch binding and would love any constructive criticism! i left it under a bunch of weight over night and some of the pages went a little wavy, not sure what happened there though I do live in very humid weather. should i have not put it under any weight? i used 1mm thread with 130g paper which i was worried was too thick.

full cloth covering on ring binder album?

hope this alright, it's technically not a book but it will be filled with pages! i'm using chipboard and all the usual things i'd use for a book binding

what i'd really like to do is have the whole thing wrapped in the book cloth so that it's the same both sides as seamlessly as possible but i'm having trouble finding a tutorial that doesn't just cover the inside with the usual sort of endpaper

i'm not very creative when it comes to this part so any thoughts or directions to tutorials on how to cut the book cloth. and preemptive apology if DAS already has a video on this lol

like the title says, I want to make a sketchbook that lies flat, which seems to mean I should do the coptic stitch according to the internet, but I'd like to include a full cover with a chipboard spine instead of having the stitching exposed. does anyone have any tutorial recommendations for that? video or otherwise. i see vids about making hard covers on youtube but i'm concerned that they might not be the right style for a book that needs to lie flat, if that makes sense

thanks!
