CuteBee Tsutenkaku Ichiban Street

This is my first time doing assembling a booknook like this, where there are multiple ways to display it. It was nice having little external attachments for the parts not used when it is opened. The acrylic parts were frustrating, only because peeling the protective film was a pain in the butt. Otherwise, I just used some glue to stick parts together that were a bit loose. Tape glue was really useful this time again, I use it to stick the parchment-like paper parts together the wood, and it works well. Again, if you squint, I broke a small part accidentally, I don’t know my strength apparently. I really liked this kit overall, Osaka has a special place in my heart.

Emporer’s Study by Mini City

This booknook has been sitting there half unfinished for the last few weeks and I finally got it done today. The finished booknook is beautiful, but I have mixed feelings about the process.

I liked that connection pieces are made with little spaces in between (like in picture 2), it is easier to attach pieces to each other without using too much force and then there is the satisfying sound of it clicking in.

Then, there is all the glueing and the books, the bloody books, and that bookshelf in the right corner, I think it was the piece that discouraged me most. I actually used tape glue to put some of the books together, I had no more patience to wait for the Alene or B-7000 glue to dry. It’s definitely not as strong as the main glues used in this sub but it worked for the purpose.

Overall, I’m glad this is done, so I can move on to the next!

CUTEBEE Kyoto Snow

This is my 5th book nook, first time doing some “customization“ with the snow, still a bit timid about adding my own ‘touch’, I’m still more comfortable just assembling at the moment.

Putting the acrylic parts of the water together was a little tough, I did crack one of the acrylic piece, luckily the boat hides it.

I really liked having multiple lighting fixtures like in this book nook, the effect is mesmerizing.

This was a fun build, I’ve been trying different companies to see which ones I like.
