Veggie Warriros upgrades notice

Veggie Warriros upgrades notice

2025.9.25 - Game released with 150 levels

2025.12.23 - added 50 levels

I'm curious if anybody knows whether the game was also down with an upgrade notice when they added the 50 additional levels previously?

Update: Never mind... was just a short maintenance period. Game is already back online. At a quick glance, nothing has changed visually. XD

A brief pets guide

This guide is created in response to another thread What do you guys do with extra pets. It contains some subjective personal opinions and may not completely cover the entire pet's topic.

Pet was not a widely discussed topic so I thought it was worth a small guide. I don't intend on creating a guide for each part of the game. There are troves of info cross-posted in other veggie warriors threads. For that gold, a bit of digging/searching is recommended.

For the main pets topic, as the old saying goes, don't judge a book by it's cover. To translate that to pets, it means pets are not necessarily superior just because they're mythical or legendary tier. Pet's also stay on the same classification they're born with. i.e. an Epic pet can not become a Legendary one.

To be frank, I don't rate any mythical pets.

For example, contrary to initial pro discussion this sub had about Mighty snow beast (mythical), I find it to be a con.

Basketball sidekick (mythical) seems to be only available from the First purchase bundle which can only be bought once. I've never drawn an instance of it over the 6 months I invested in pets, so it can never be upgraded from 0 star to Gold 1 star. Nor have I seen anyone on the Rankings board with it that's not a 0 star.

Imo, the best pet is Frost spirit cat, followed by Spirit stone guardian. Both are better suited to no holy plants approach or any approach if you want to be pedantic. Their skill effects can be further enhanced with gems. See enhance freeze/stun/etc effects.

For tanking the boss, best pet would be Windrider hawk.

I'll limit the topic to my best three. The advantage of each is captured in the three links above. Their skills are listed in the table below and should be pretty self-explanatory when compared to other pets.

Pets and heroes (off-topic) do not trigger % non-boss instant kill chance and deals little damage. It is pet's primary and passive skills which makes them useful.

1. Primary skills - improves as you upgrade your pet level. Most don't gain useful skills until they've reached LVL 50 or 75 as shown.

LVL Frost spirit cat Spirit stone guardian Windrider hawk
50 Deals damage equal to 50% of the hero's attack power. Every 8 attacks, surrounding cold air gathers to form a large ice spike, dealing damage equal to 62% of the hero's attack power to enemies in range. Attacks deal damage equal to 50% of the hero's attack power Every 8 attacks, slam the ground to deal area damage equal to 33% of the hero's attack power, with a chance to stun enemies for 2 seconds. Deals damage equal to 60% of the hero's attack power After every 8 attacks, a flurry of feather blades is unleashed, dealing 40% of the hero's attack power to enemies in range. Reduces attack speed by 10% for 6 seconds.
75 Attacks deal damage equal to 50% of the hero's attack power. After every 8 attacks, surrounding cold air gathers to form a giant ice spike, dealing 62% of the hero's attack power as damage to enemies within range, with a chance to freeze them for 3 seconds. Deals 50% of the hero's attack damage. Every 8 attacks, smashes the ground to deal 66% of the hero's attack as area damage, with a chance to stun enemies for 2 seconds. Deals 60% of the hero's attack power as damage. Every 8th attack unleashes a flurry of feather blades, dealing 50% of the hero's attack power as damage to nearby enemies and reducing their attack speed by 20% for 8 seconds.
100 Deals 50% of the hero's attack damage. Every 8 attacks, gathers surrounding cold air to form a massive ice spike, dealing 95% of the hero's attack damage to enemies in range, with a chance to freeze them for 3 seconds. Deals 50% of the hero's attack damage. After every 8 attacks, slams the ground to deal 100% of the hero's attack as area damage, with a chance to stun enemies for 2 seconds. Attacks deal damage equal to 60% of the hero's attack power. After every 8 attacks, a flurry of feather blades is released, dealing damage equal to 50% of the hero's attack power to enemies within range and reducing their attack speed by 25% for 10 seconds.

Refer to Primary skill info button for skills info of the selected pet at different levels. There is Primary skills index for LVL 100 pets, but obviously is missing info on other levels.

2. Passive skills

All pets initially drawn are 0 stars but their tier dictates how many passive skills they are spawned with.

- Epic Legendary Mythical
Number of passive skills at 0 star 2 3 3

Pet stars don't really mean much, it's really just a symbolic value that increments each time you perform a Star upgrade (merge).

For the curious, pet star tiers:

White [0 star] + 1x Star upgrade > Gold [1-5 star] > Green [1-5 star] > Blue [1-5 star] > Purple [1-5 star] > Red [1-5 star]

Red 5 star being the Max.

Each time you perform a Star upgrade, it will add a new random passive skill until all 4 slots are occupied with lvl 1 passive skills. After which, subsequent Star upgrade will upgrade the passive skill level up to lvl 7.

Note: For some, a Red 5 star pet will have lvl 7 passive skills for all 4 slots, some will be 3x lvl 7 + 1x lvl 6.

https://preview.redd.it/h3b0wppn216h1.png?width=1002&format=png&auto=webp&s=e568fdcc248e4e8b2d3c429c2e82eb2664846e23

When merging 0 star Epic pets, the two passive skills from the pet you initiated the merger from is always preserved. The third skill learnt is a lottery.

Spirit stone guardian, no same
[0 star]
purple 1 1.5% elec
blue 1 1% fire
+
[0 star]
blue 1 1% ice
blue 1 5 attack
=
[Gold 1 star]
purple 1 1.5% elec
blue 1 1% fire
gold 1 2% ice

When merging 0 star Legendary/Mythical pets, the three passive skills from the pet you initiated the merger from is always preserved. Fourth skill learnt is lottery.

Lightning bee, diff colour (hp)
[0 star]
gold 1 70 hp
blue 1 1% ice
blue 1 1% wind
+
[0 star]
purple 1 50 hp
blue 1 1% boss
blue 1 1% 4 slot
=
[Gold 1 star]
gold 1 70 hp
blue 1 1% ice
blue 1 1% wind
purple 1 1.5% phy

The pet you initiated the merger from always dictates the skills preserved and new additions added/rolled via lottery. You can use this method to perform free rolls until you get your desired passive skill(s).

Imo, the best passive skill is All enemies damage reduced by X%, followed by Increase damage to boss by X%.

So with that view in mind, the primary goal of rolling is to obtain one gold All enemies damage reduced by 2% if you don't already possess it. For info on other skills and grading, refer to Passive skills index button in the screenshot up top.

When merging pets with all 4 slots filled, passive skills will level up corresponding to amount of star the other pet is quantified to be.

0 Star: +1, Gold 1 star: +2, Gold 2 star: +3, and so on.

Windrider hawk, same (dmg reduced), same colour (fire)
[Purple 2 star]
blue 3 3% fire
purple 5 7.5% elec
gold 7 14% dmg reduced
blue 5 5% boss
+
[0 star]
blue 1 1% fire
blue 1 1% 3 slot
purple 1 1.5% dmg reduced
=
[Purple 3 star]
blue 3 3% fire
purple 6 9% elec
gold 7 14% dmg reduced
blue 5 5% boss

Lightning Bee, no same
[Gold 2 star]
gold 1 2% dmg reduced
purple 1 50 hp
gold 1 2% 4 slot
purple 2 3% fire
+
[Gold 2 star]
blue 2 2% 3 slot
blue 1 1% phy
purple 1 1.5% phy
purple 1 1.5% poison
=
[Gold 5 star]
gold 1 2% dmg reduced
purple 2 100 hp
gold 1 2% 4 slot
purple 4 6% fire

If a pet has reached a fairly high star rating and still have not obtained passive skill(s) desired, you can deploy it as the secondary pet with another pet that has the desired passive skill(s). In flipped merger example below, following the merge behaviour described earlier, third and fourth skills are rolled. If one is really lucky, you may end up with a high star rating pet that has multiple dmg reduced skills like this player. XD

Spirit stone guardian, same (boss)
[0 star]
blue 1 1% boss
blue 1 1% dmg reduced
+
[Red 1 star]
purple 6 9% wind
purple 6 9% 4 slot
purple 4 6% poison
gold 7 14% boss
=
[Red 2 star]
blue 7 7% boss
blue 5 5% dmg reduced
purple 5 7.5% boss
purple 7 10.5% hp

In summary, rather than dismiss/sell spare pets, it is better to save them for the roll to get your desired passive skill(s). Unlike Refresh roll which uses amber stones that you need to buy with vouchers, the roll method described in this guide won't cost a thing.

Update(s):

  • fixed some formatting/typos/wording
  • fixed Number of passive skills at 0 star table - corrected data
  • fixed some lost changes...

This is my take and contains some knowledge that builds on top of pre-existing known tricks that have already been shared by the community.

Below is the current scheduled PoT boss immunity per day. Its usage is explained below.

Day (Timezone: GMT+10) Boss Immunity
Mon elec, poison.
Tue elec, ice.
Wed ice, wind.
Thu phy, wind.
Fri fire, phy.
Sat elec, ice.
Sun ice, wind.

Many are probably already aware, to reach super high scores, the main concept is to lower your attack power and use the Cantaloupe+Cabbage+Potato combo.

This can be achieved through:

  • Lowering your gears to stage 1 white (+5 attack).
  • Reset your pet to LVL 1 or equip a fresh 0 star pet. Preferably, the pet's passive skills does not boost attack power in any form and it's primary elemental skill is also the type boss is immune to.
  • Playing on specific days where the boss is immune to specific element types.
  • Days in bold font are the most favourable days for this.
  • Using above knowledge, tweak your lineup so all the damage or most of it are dealt by the Potato.

Below two screenshots show an ideal setup for Tue and Sat.

https://preview.redd.it/iy0avmglmxxg1.png?width=561&format=png&auto=webp&s=d9856588b02f079f6cb0a80b2977180c07d0c7f7

https://preview.redd.it/6gws8ii6ixxg1.png?width=1768&format=png&auto=webp&s=5af1dd03b2e4aa87bb2b2f0d304b3aaf1dbb5279

On these two days, the boss is immune to damage from all plants and pet chosen (elec & ice); the synthesis stage of elec & ice plants won't matter as all damage to the boss are nulled.

Cabbage will continue to freeze the boss when it's 20% chance freeze skill is triggered.

My gem setup for this run:

Gem Cooldown (CD) % or instance Comment
Cabbage 24 I found 28%+ too excessive...
Cantaloupe 42
Exp 54 Lots of it helps acquiring skill cards faster during early waves.
Movement 38
Potato 22
Dmg Reduced 12
Dmg Reduced Injured 8
Immunity 11 Got hit like 6-9 times by Wave 8 boss. You will probably need some.

Cabbage's low (24%) CD from gems in conjunction with in-game Attack Speed 5%/10%/15% will result in the boss having a hard time moving through the course.

This is a nonissue on Tue & Sat. As more potatoes pop-up, the lag will induce boss to start moving towards the base and trip on your best PoT friend (Potato). 😝

Further run breakdown:

Wave Key Skills Picked Damage Total (at end of wave) Total Duration (at end of wave) 3 Key Skills (AS - Exp - Movement) Comment
1 Potato 4th skill, Attack Speed (AS) 5%, Onion AS 8%, Onion AS 15%, Water lily Frenzy AS 10%, Cabbage freeze 20%, Exp 25%, Cantaloupe piercing giant 2.03m 00:03:08 1-1-0 King's commander presence on the grid adds another 10% attack speed to nearby plants of course.
2 AS 5%, Cantaloupe 3rd skill double knockback chance 59m 00:08:42 2-1-0 Cantaloupe 3rd skill double knockback chance probably isn't a necessity. You may keep the plant at LVL 1 so it's default attack power is lowest as possible for other immunity days.
3 AS 5% 214m 00:14:36 3-1-0 By this stage (3-1-0), boss should already be experiencing difficulty moving away from the starting point.
4 AS 5%, Exp 25%, AS 5% 3.58bn 00:26:54 5-2-0
5 Movement 5%, Movement 5%, AS 5%, Exp 25% 13.94bn 00:41:12 6-3-2
6 Movement 5%, AS 5%, AS 5% 41.97bn 01:03:40 8-3-3
7 AS 5%, AS 5% 101.13bn 01:33:37 10-3-3
8 292.82bn 02:00:53 10-3-3
9 AS 5% 407.76bn 02:12:05 11-3-3 11th AS 5% was overkill for my setup and caused Out-of-Memory (OOM) crash. Only took around 15% off boss HP.

Balance is key. In my experiences, it is favourable to be one AS 5% ahead of current level to counter the boss movement speed which increments per level. Above table depict a +1 ahead approach but it isn't really a you-must-follow-this protocol. i.e. you can be +0 or +2 or +3.

For my CD setup and run time skills chosen, 10x AS 5% was probably my Desktop PC's limit and balance sweetspot. The balance will of course vary from person to person if their setup differs to mine.

So in my run, pretty much from 6-3-2 onwards and up to 10-3-3, it could be said the run was on autopilot. There was no need to interact with the speed mode button at all; I left it on 5x speed when I realised it could run in autopilot. Whereas in the past I would intentionally speed up to 5x to make the boss reach near the end and switch to 1x/2x/3x speed to send boss back to the beginning. It was not required this time around.

I've mostly used the Torso skin hero before today, and when the boss reaches the end of J curve like below, I've never managed to knock the boss back onto the course way. As a result, I usually die or crash out due to Out-of-Memory (OOM).

https://preview.redd.it/zyh72ki6ixxg1.png?width=561&format=png&auto=webp&s=025ad56176f7fe317562c5c43b4e8e2e5aa40a10

In such situation, the non-skin hero emerges as a key solution. It seems to have the ability to knock the boss down from the tip of the J curve and back onto the course way; that moment is illustrated in the screenshot below.

https://preview.redd.it/hycrnji6ixxg1.png?width=561&format=png&auto=webp&s=214a443112e1b04fde5ab34ccd7ea96dbb903fef

Once that happens, the boss is sent all the way back to the start until the next game lag hits. The J knockback effect, actually happened twice during this Wave 8 run. On both occasion, I confirmed with slow motion replay that the trigger was the sword hit by non-skin hero.

In this last screenshot, it is about 1 minute from the end. Before LVL 9 boss came out, damage was 293bn, boss hp bar has been depleted by around 15%.

https://preview.redd.it/4ywfvui6ixxg1.png?width=561&format=png&auto=webp&s=4ba03045229d055c0c4ee26446df9e7ceecfb5f5

10 seconds after screenshot, boss reached base and game became super laggy, like 1 frame per 1 to 10+ seconds, damage total reached 407bn.

The stalled state is likeliest due to me upping AS by another 5% (11-3-3) during Wave 9.

Another 35 seconds later, game/browser tab crashed from Out-of-Memory (OOM).

I estimate boss remaining hp bar to be around 350-500bn, so you can imagine how high the score would've been with 10 waves completed.

Reflection:

This investigative experiment took 02:12:05. The grind (even at 5x speed mode) would've been much longer if it wasn't for the crash.

Is such a grind worth it? Probably if one wants a LVL 75 or LVL 100 mythical pet fast. 🤪

Luckily I'm only 3K exotic fruits away from LVL 75. I can say no to the grind. LVL 75 reached.🤭

For me, I ain't doing that again even if I could leave PoT in autopilot...

As for the best possible setup for Fri? Fragments of related information are already scattered throughout this sub. 😝

TLDR:

  • To basically sum up an example strat for Tue and Sat:
  • lower your attack power
  • pick elect and ice plant/pet only
  • find your cooldown balance sweetspot
  • pick only 4th potato skill
  • boss gets stuck at the start is a nonissue
  • potato populate for 4-6 mins
  • minute lag kicks in
  • boss moves towards base and trips all the potatoes
  • non-skin hero is another key factor to knocking the boss all the way back to the start
  • rinse and repeat (autopilot mode?)
  • setup will vary a bit for Fri of course

Update(s):

  • Please excuse the typos. When I created this thread, it was late evenings.
  • Various typo corrections and made some info a bit clearer.
  • Updated table to reflect Potato 4th skill was picked during Wave 1.
  • Added more info on pet selection criteria to consider for PoT run.
  • Fixed typo: what the heck is non-boss skin? I meant non-skin hero...
