Help: newly planted tank is dying and yellowing
Slides 1 and 2: today
Slides 3: 2 weeks ago, freshly planted
Tank Parameters:
- 60L/15 gallons, fresh water at 25C / 77F, have had tank for same time as fish but only planted 2-3 wks ago
- 2 small fish (have had them alive for 5+ yrs) + 4 nerite snails
- Used to have algae problems but since added plants, not a problem
- Water nitrates (NO2 and NO3) are low, almost 0
- Water hardness is quite high (GH 180ppm)
- pH is 6.5-7
- kH is 40 ppm
- I used filtered water from home and do 10% water changes weekly
- Light is 30W from Aliexpress for ~5 hrs daily
- Dose with API Leaf Zone once weekly
- Gravel substrate
Plants:
- x2 java fern
- x2 anubias
- vallisneria
- hygrophila polysperma
I did not bury rhizomes of java fern or anubias (secured on rocks/shells/coral with rubber band before I can get superglue). The anubias probably is the most intact atm. Java fern has yellowed, gotten more spotty and big leaves are browning.
My hygrophilia came without roots? So I just put the stems in but now they are browning from the bottom to the top. The stems are becoming mushy...
The vallisneria is also not looking too good. It is wilted, mushy and shedding.
What do I do! I really want this tank to survive please! I really appreciate any feesback and advice 🥹🙏
TIA x
