Any advice for insurance covering rupture? MRI pics included
I got my mentor implants 9 years ago, and got a lift 4 years ago, but from the same doctor. I noticed a golf ball sized lump in my left breast 2 weeks ago and got an ultrasound, they could see there was a difference in my left implant so I got an mri. They said it’s ruptured.. my pcp gave me a referral for a plastic surgeon through the hospital and they said insurance will not cover it because they were placed cosmetically and that they won’t even try to get it covered. Should I try to find another doctor to do it or is it really not likely? My implants are covered with insurance for up to $3,500 for surgery costs but I’m hoping to not have to pay anything out of pocket. I would be getting only the implant taken out, not new ones or a lift. Anybody have any advice?
