Anyone know how this NYC 9/11 City Ruck actually works?

Anyone know how this NYC 9/11 City Ruck actually works?

Information is sparse on the GoRuck website for the 12-mile City Ruck. Gives a start point and says in the description, "City Rucks are built for connection: patch-earning, community-driven, and designed to show you the city in a whole new way."

What does that mean? Am I going at my own pace on a marked course? Going with a group at a fixed pace? I would much prefer the former, so trying to learn if this is not a great event for me.

What differences to expect when switching from weighted vest to traditional rucksack?

Over the last month I've logged about 60 miles of rucking with a RunMax vest that puts up to 10 four-pound sand inserts about level with sternum in front and half on backside around shoulder blades. Have mostly rucked with 32-36 lbs, mostly even front-back distribution.

Wondering how this has impacted movement and bodily demand and what stands to change when I go to traditional rucksack. I ordered a GoRuck 2.0 20L and a 30-lb insert, figure I can use sandbags to add a bit if desired. I guess the vest to this point has put more demand on cardiovascular with some added compression around chest and diaphragm? Not sure.

Ultimately goals are overall fitness, CV fitness, keeping legs healthy and Achilles especially, which has flared under heavier usage, including strength workouts involving cleans, squats, push press, etc.

Will have new equipment in a couple days, will give it a go and feel it out. 43YO. Any insights/tips ahead of gear change appreciated.
