Dirty water , help please
Hello, fresh and inexperienced person here . I have nobody in my close circle of people to ask, so I am trying my luck here.
I have a Betta I was gifted in a circle bowl ( I know , I know) , but ever since I am in a quest to give poor fella a best life I can.
I studied everything upfront and I know to move him to my big tank once it's cycled . So as I am trying to do that this happened (see photo).
I have 2 layers of substrate at the bottom . One is some soil for plants and 0,8 -1.2 mm sand on top of it.
I have also had spider wood in there . So I don't know what caused my water to get this dirty. Tannins for sure, but is my substrate lˇseeping through sand ? Is this bacterial? How do I know? It's been cycling for one week. I have already ordered 2 more bags of sand (6 more kgs).
I have a sponge filter (Eheim pickup 60) and I tried to DIY carbon filtration into it but it did not help for 2 days.
Now I turned off the filtration so that maybe if it's soil dust it will settle (it did not, it's been of for 12 hours) .
Any ideas ?
Should I wait? Should I change the water? I don't want to lose any bacteria I already built up (I have also added beneficial bacteria and I put fish food in the tank to feed them)
