Solutions to hot weather?

As this is my first year with medaka and summer now in it's peak here in the states, Georgia is hitting around 90-100ºF daily with water in my spare containers almost getting up to ~115ºF (ponds housing fish ~80-90ºF), what are some way's I can provide cooler temperatures for my ponds?

Some things I've done already:
I have my fish in semi deep tote containers ~10-20 gallons to help with temperature swings. I have lots of floating plants to provide shade. I also put tote lids perpendicular to the opening of the tote so that half of the container is shaded by the lid as well. I don't really have a "shady" area in my backyard, so the best I could provide in terms of shade is a shade cloth.

Any other tips?

USA made medaka strains

I've been in the hobby for a couple of months now but I was just curious as to if there are any strains that were created within the US and if so, if there is a website or document of the strains made. I know that naming system for most strains are based off Japanese words that describe patterns/coloration but was just wondering if there are any strains that have different names.

why did my medaka die?

im sorry in advance for the beginner questions and noob stuff

i bought this orange hikari medaka about one week ago and yesterday i noticed that she was moving a little stagnant (she's not the only fish) and today i found her dead. she was introduced by herself and maybe 2 days later was joined by other medaka. i checked the water parameters and everything seems fine and there wasn't any sign of fungal growth.

a side thing i do want to mention, (although don't know how much of an impact it would have) i did find a small frog in the pond yesterday but no missing fish
any tips or advice would be heavily appreciated! i'm new to all things aquatic
