₹27,000 Motorola Edge 70 — Camera Fogging on Day 1 & My Service Centre Experience

I bought a Motorola Edge 70 for around ₹27,000 from Flipkart, and unfortunately my experience started going wrong from Day 1.

While recording a video, I noticed visible fogging/condensation around the camera lens. I have the original video and photo evidence of the issue.

The phone has not been exposed to water or any liquid.

I visited Motorola's authorised service centre with the issue. I was told that DOA/replacement would not be provided and that the phone would need to be opened for inspection if I wanted a proper job sheet.

I was also told that if the fogging was caused by some gel/material inside the camera, it could be removed and the phone could be returned.

My concern is simple:

Why should a brand-new ₹27,000 phone have to be opened and potentially repaired on the very first day instead of being considered for replacement?

I also contacted Flipkart. They asked for the service-centre job sheet and have now forwarded my case to their specialist team. The issue is still unresolved and I still don't have a replacement.

I am not claiming that every Motorola phone has this problem. I am sharing my own experience because I don't think a customer buying a brand-new phone should have to deal with a camera defect and service-centre visits immediately after delivery.

Before buying Motorola, especially through Flipkart, I would strongly suggest checking recent customer experiences, replacement policies and after-sales service reviews yourself.

If you don't believe my experience, that's completely fine — check Reddit, X/Twitter and Instagram for other Indian buyers' experiences and make your own decision.

Proof available:

• Original camera-fogging video

• Photos of the issue

• Purchase invoice

• Flipkart complaint details

• Motorola service-centre job sheet

Has anyone else experienced camera fogging/condensation or a similar Day-1 defect with Motorola? How was your case handled?

Indian buyers: Think twice before buying a Motorola phone — my Day-1 experience

If you are considering buying a Motorola phone, I strongly recommend checking the brand’s after-sales service and replacement experiences before making your decision. My personal experience has been extremely disappointing, and after this experience, I personally would not want to buy another Motorola phone.

I purchased a Motorola Edge 70 for around ₹27,000 from Flipkart. On the very first day, I noticed visible fog/condensation around the camera lens while recording videos.

I took the camera-fogging video proof to Motorola’s authorized service centre. I was told that DOA/replacement would not be provided and that if a proper job sheet was required, the brand-new phone would have to be opened for inspection.

I was also told that if the fogging was caused by some gel/material inside the camera, it could be removed and the phone could then be returned to me.

I am not a technician, so I am not claiming to know the exact technical cause of the fogging. My concern is simple:

I paid around ₹27,000 for a brand-new phone. Why should I have to take it to a service centre on Day 1 and have the new device opened instead of getting a replacement for a defect that appeared immediately after delivery?

I also contacted Flipkart. They asked me to provide the service-centre job sheet and have now forwarded my case to their specialist team.

As of now, my issue is still unresolved and I still do not have a replacement.

The most frustrating part is that instead of simply using the new phone I paid for, I have had to deal with a camera defect, service-centre visits, and a replacement dispute from the very first day.

So to Indian buyers: before buying a Motorola phone, please check the brand’s after-sales service and replacement experiences carefully.

And if you are still considering Motorola, especially if you are planning to buy through Flipkart, check the seller, replacement terms and service-centre process carefully before placing your order.

If you don't believe my experience, that's completely fine. Search Reddit, X/Twitter and Instagram yourself and look at other Indian customers' experiences with Motorola. Make your own decision based on what you find.

I am not claiming that every Motorola phone will have the same problem. I am sharing my own ₹27,000 Day-1 experience so that another buyer doesn't end up in the same situation.

If anyone else has experienced camera fogging/condensation or a similar replacement/service-centre issue with Motorola, please share your experience.

Motorola Edge 70 ₹27,000 का नया फोन और पहले ही दिन Camera Fogging + Service Centre Experience — Is this how Motorola handles customers?

I recently purchased a Motorola Edge 70 for around ₹27,000 from Flipkart. The phone was delivered to me, and on the very first day, I noticed a visible fog/condensation issue around the camera lens while recording videos.

Later, I also noticed that the back panel is slightly lifted/not properly fitted.

Since this was a brand-new phone, I expected Motorola's authorized service centre to help resolve the issue. Unfortunately, my experience there was extremely disappointing.

I showed the staff the video of the camera fogging and explained that the phone had been delivered from Flipkart that same day and had not been exposed to water or any liquid.

However, I was told that they would not provide a DOA/replacement, and that if they had to create a proper job sheet, they would need to open the phone for inspection.

What concerned me even more was that the staff told me that they would open the phone and check the camera, and if the fogging was caused by some gel/material inside, they would remove it and return the phone to me.

This raises a simple question:

Did I pay ₹27,000 for a brand-new phone, or did I pay ₹27,000 to take a brand-new phone to a service centre the very next day and have it opened?

If a camera issue appears on the very first day of using a brand-new device, why should the customer's first option be to have the phone opened and repaired instead of getting a replacement/DOA resolution?

I want to make it clear that I am not a technician, so I am not claiming that the fogging is definitely caused by any particular material or component. My concern is simply that:

A brand-new phone developed a camera issue on Day 1, and the proposed solution from the service centre was to open the phone and repair/inspect it, while I am requesting a replacement/DOA resolution.

I also contacted Flipkart, but I was directed back to the brand/service centre for resolution.

After this experience, my confidence in Motorola's after-sales service has taken a serious hit.

I paid ₹27,000 expecting a properly working brand-new phone — not a camera issue on Day 1, service-centre visits, and the concern of having my brand-new phone opened.

Has anyone else with a Motorola Edge 70 or another new Motorola phone experienced camera fogging/condensation or a similar service-centre/replacement experience?

I am posting this so that people considering a Motorola phone can also take the after-sales service and replacement experience into account before making their purchase.

u/MotorolaIndia — If there is an official Motorola representative monitoring this subreddit, I would appreciate a response regarding this case.

I have the original camera-fogging video, purchase invoice, and service-centre/complaint details available as evidence.
