Dr. Drowley travels the frontier selling miraculous tonics, strange devices and occult remedies, carrying an entire laboratory hidden beneath his coat. Somewhere between physician, alchemist and showman, he is known for curing impossible illnesses almost as often as causing them.
Exekiel Dagg, a Vaurin gambler and warlock from my own fantasy old west setting.
The Vaurin were once beings of light who dwelled deep beneath the earth, in vast crystalline halls untouched by the surface world. But as human expansion and mining pushed further underground, many of their ancient sanctuaries were shattered, forcing them into flesh-bound forms and a world they were never meant to walk.
Dagg was captured by surface wizards and bound in enchanted iron restraints designed to drain his magic and keep him obedient. When he finally escaped, he turned the shackles against his captors, trapping their souls within the metal itself and using their power as the source of his own spells.
Now he wanders the frontier as a gambler, trickster and collector of debts, drifting from saloon to saloon with a sly grin, quick hands and a past that still rattles softly in chains.
