Ensuring your place videos

Hey everyone, I'm putting this out there though I don't know how useful this might be.

So I remember that GRFM was featured as part of an anthology with another video called "Exploding Varmints". Now I've been watching and rewatching Red Letter Media for years now and in their series Best of the Worst, specifically the 37th one which is also Wheel of the Worst number 10 they end up watching a video called "Exploding Varmints". I'm not sure if anyone knows if this is the same video that was part of the anthology that GRFM was a part of, but there is a comment on that particular episode from someone claiming that "Exploding Varmints" was filmed on their relatives property that suggests it might have been filmed in the 90's which if true would help narrow down when GRFM could have been filmed. In any case take this for what it might be worth.

Para ordnance p14 part 2

Hey everyone, this is a followup to my previous post about the P14 I picked up. As it turned out the feeding issues were because of the magazine springs. It looks like the springs were too weak and it was causing problems with the slide lock. I got a few Wolf extra power springs and when I went to the range to function check it I worked nearly flawlessly. I say nearly because it had a few feeding issues in the beginning but when I took a few rounds out of the magazine it worked perfectly. I'm guessing that the springs just need to be broken in.

Now I'm looking for some help with adding a rail to it. I got a Novak rail from Brownells and the instructions on how to drill and tap the frame are pretty straight forward. What I'm a little unclear on is if I should tap the screw holes on the rail as well as on the frame?

Here are some pictures of the rail and the area I'm asking about tapping in addition to the frame.

Thanks in advance for the advice and suggestions!

Here are some recommendations

Hey everyone, just wanted to drop a few recommendations for some stories I've found.

Before I say anything about these stories, I need to make it clear I'm trying to abide by the rules here. With that being said, I can't say for certain that these are all made by AI, but I wouldn't be surprised. With that being the case, I don't think these are in any way stolen from someone else, nor am I claiming that I wrote these. Since I can't confirm 100% that these aren't taken from someone else and because they're read by an AI voice at the very least, and this post is still against the rules fell free to take it down.

Harry/Enid

https://youtu.be/nzq8qR\_XBW4?si=DfuUNPcw7eHGKHR0

This one is largely a romance between Harry and Enid. It has aN evil/manipulative Dumbledore and while it doesn't have a lot of plot, it is cute and definitely worth a listen if you're not in the mood for anything heavy.

Harry Potter/Addams Family

https://youtu.be/RA\_9AOSOej8?si=o-5jFr3CQ5slcVeC

This one is definitely one of my favorites! It goes down the traditional route of Harry being a distant relation to the Addams' by way of the Blacks. However this story is hardly run of the mill. This story has a really interesting story that I really hope gets continued. More than that though, the family dynamics with Harry and the Addams' definitely what I like most about this story. I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't listened to this one, but there's an incredibly moving scene between Harry and Gomez that I think warrants a listen from that interaction alone!

Lucifer/Harry Potter

https://youtu.be/OtJzrOT-XQ8?si=G7hLmOGDdLKgtFqK

So this is a more recent Lucifer/Harry Potter story. The set up is largely the same as many of the "Harry being raised by someone else" type stories, the only difference is that they skip over Lucifer finding Harry and taking him from the door step. It starts right before Harry gets his letter and goes from there. The thing about this story that I really like is how they strayed from cannon and did things differently. There's politics, family drama, and a hint at a future Harry/Daphne romance that I think would be really cool to see if the story ever gets expanded upon with a sequel. All in all I found it pretty enjoyable.

Help finding this Harry/Multi fics

Hoping I could get some help with finding what might be two different but similar stories I read just recently, but for the life of me can't remember the titles of them.

What I remember is that it's a Harry/Multi story with Susan Bones being one of the girls

I'm pretty sure some kind of marriage contracts are part of the story's plot

It/they both have pretty explicit scenes with Susan definitely being in one of them, and after they do the deed either Susan or a different girl in harem lays back on the bed with her holding her knees up to her chest hoping to get pregnant

I just read it, but can't remember the title or titles. If anyone knows which fic I'm talking about, link would be greatly appreciated.

Dumbledore vs. Yoda

Hey everyone, I'm posting this because I was hoping to get some understanding on why Dumbledore so often gets portrayed as either a delusional fool at best or fully cognizant and actively malicious at worst in so many fan stories, as opposed to Yoda who arguably occupies the same role in the narrative in Star Wars.

Basically what this boils down too is that I've read a lot of Star Wars fanfiction, and while I've read a number of them that address Yoda and by extension the Jedi's failures that allowed Palpatine to come to power. However I can't say that I've read anything that treats Yoda or the Jedi as straight antagonists in those stories the way Dumbledore is in so many Harry Potter fanfics. I mean you could definitely argue that the dogma of the Jedi that Yoda believes in is worse than what Dumbledore did when he's used as a secondary antagonist when the Jedi cast out of the order into a world they have no experience navigating on their own anyone who does not live up to standards that equate to denying or suppressing emotional connections to other people. It could also be argued that because the Jedi stress not having emotional connections to others no one is able to actually help Anakin which leads to his fall and the rise of the Empire. Finally you could say everything the Jedi do is for, "The greater good" just like Dumbledore leaving Harry with the Dursleys along with all his other long term plans and manipulations.

In any case, if anyone has thoughts on why Dumbledore gets portrayed as a villain so often but Yoda doesn't I would be interested in hearing them.

My Immortal and The Croaker

Hey everyone, I had a strange thought a little while ago and I thought I'd throw this out there and see what everyone thinks about it.

So it was a few years ago that I stumbled across the YouTube channel of Sarah Z and became aware of this most infamous story. Now unless I missed something, the identity of the author is still unknown. Now I haven't read My Immortal but if I understand things correctly it's incredibly over the top and there's some type of meta narrative that's played out in the author's notes.

Again I stumbled across a YouTube channel, but this one by StangeAeons. Now after watching some of her video essays I became aware of "The Croaker". The Croaker is similarly over the top. It also has a kind of meta narrative, only this time here on Reddit and in the AITA subreddit. Additionally, "The Croaker" is also still unidentified.

With all that being said, I'm struck by the similarities in tone and style of these two works. Now I know that similarities don't mean that they're both by the same person, but they do make me wonder if they are.

If anyone has any thoughts on this I'd be interested in hearing them. Likewise, I'd be interested in anything that can show they're not by the same person. In any case, I look forward to seeing what everyone thinks.

Golem like trope/stock character

Hello everyone, I apologize if this might not be the right place to post this and if it's not, feel free to delete it. I'm posting here because I'm kind of in the process of putting down story elements and ideas for a book that I might never get around to actually writing, but I was hoping to get some other perspectives to better implement this type of character if I get around to putting pen to paper.

(For clarification I'm talking about the Golem from Jewish folklore.)

So for a good long while I've found the Golem/automaton like characters to be some of thee coolest out there. Now when I say Golem/automaton I'm think of things like the big robot in the Stallone Judge Dredd movie, Lurch from the Addams Family, C.H.A.Z. from the Starship Troopers cartoon, and Dreadnoughts from Warhammer 40k.

The thing is though, I don't know what it is about those characters that makes them so appealing to me. Maybe it's their singular purpose and their drive to fulfill that purpose. It could also be how they're usually portrayed as being these tanks that are like some unstoppable force and an immovable object. Tangentially related to the first possible reason, maybe it's the unwavering loyalty they usually have.

In any case, if anyone else thinks those types of characters are cool I'd really like to hear your take on why you like them.

Hey everyone, I managed to find a used P14 at one of my local gun stores recently and picked it up. When I went to the range to see how it handled it began jamming like every other round. Now after doing some reading I think I've narrowed it down to it having a bad slide lock/slide release because the slide doesn't lock back with an empty mag inserted, but I was hoping to hear from anyone who might have some experience on the off chance that P14s might be different from regular 1911s before I go and get a new slide release. Any help or other thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
