I'm a big fan of Alice and John Coltrane, and have enjoyed plenty of Pharoah Sanders, but this is just a step too far for me.

Live at Birdland is about the most intense jazz record I enjoy. Has anyone got recommendations in that realm?

Do I need to work my way up to something like the pictured album?

What an album, and what a lineup!

I've always loved anything I've heard by Paul Desmond, but I had no idea he'd played with Bob James and Ron Carter. This Gabor Szabo character has got some chops too!

It's a German first pressing in VG+ condition for a very reasonable €8 at the flea market.
