I wrote an arrangement of Poisoning Pigeons in the Park, which criticizes the use of AI in art. I could think of no better way to pay homage to the OG satirist.

I'm a composer, and I write musical theatre. I constantly get people telling me how I should use AI to develop concept art, to write accompaniments, to orchestrate reductions, to map out harmonies, to write my lyrics for me... you name it. I just got sick of it, and decided to write a song. I was going to write something original, but then it occurred to me that this kind of social commentary is exactly the kind of thing Lehrer did, so I thought I'd pay homage by instead putting new words on an old favorite.

I painted a Companion Cuuler

I have loved Portal since I was a kid, and to date, it remains my favorite game I've ever played. I do a lot of cosplay, and Chell was one of my first; I'm now making a new and improved version, and that includes a companion cube! Instead of making a game accurate prop, I decided to paint this cooler. Now I can bring snacks and drinks everywhere at any convention even in costume- and I can obviously use it day to day as well! It's just acrylic paint and a black paint pen, sealed with a gloss coat. It's far from perfect, entirely freehand, but I think that gives it a little comic bookish charm, you know?
