Bear spray - safe to store in shed/greenhouse?

Hi all,

Less of an outdoors-y question and more about safely keeping bear spray handy around the property. We moved to the PNW and have bears that visit our property, this year a sow and a cub (she started out with two but one has gone missing) cruise our yard. Normally our dogs alert to the bears but the dogs are not always outside with us. We live in a valley close to a river so temperatures are not usually too extreme.

So I want to keep bear spray handy and am not sure if it's safe to stash them in a shed and greenhouse over summer and winter as well as keeping some in the house, the idea for keeping them in the outdoor structures being that we would have them in the areas where we might be most likely to have an unexpected encounter.

Anyone have experience with a similar idea? Also looking for recommendations for brands we might shortlist for purchase.

Repurpose older 2020 Nest thermostat as parts or whole?

Anyone know of a way to repurpose a 2020 (G4CVZ) Nest thermostat?

I've ended up with one new in box but don't need it. Can it be repurposed/reflashed/hacked or just harvested for parts and re-used that way? I've been dabbling with some microcontroller fun projects and could use the LCD and touch sensor for some stuff but don't want to tear the thing apart just to find I can't reuse any of the components.

I have not been able to find a teardown for this particular model, perhaps my google-fu is too weak.

As in the title, I'm looking for some light bulbs that don't whine. I have some older Sylvania bulbs and the noise they make when off is really annoying.

Would be used with Google Home if that matters.
