I'm a non-eu student who has been studying in italy since September 2025. Right before my arrival, the laws for obtaining your fiscal code were changed and they stopped giving it before your arrival to italy or through the Agenzia delle Entrate for non-eu students. They told me that I'll recieve it when I have my finger printing appointment for my permesso but that was back in March 2026 and when I asked for it at the appointment, the person handling my application was just confused and said that they don't hand out the fiscal codes there. A month later, my friend had his fingerprinting appointment and they gave him his code. My permesso has not been completed/processed yet so I am hoping that I will get my fiscal code when I go to collect it. However, if anyone knows any other way of getting your fiscal code as a Non-EU national then please help

I had my fingerprinting appointment for my first permesso siggiorno back in March 2026 and they told me there to collect the card in three months. However, when I checked the website after three months it still showed the permesso is in transit with the yellow cross symbol. However, since 2 weeks ago the site has just stopped showing the status of my application. Whenever I enter my file number the page just refreshes and return to the initial screen where you enter the file number. I had been checking my application status regularly since it has now been 5 months since my appointment and this only started happening two weeks ago. I am not in italy/europe right now because of summer and I will return in October but I don't know what to do till then.

I even mailed the official email of the questura given on immigration portal. However that was a few days before the website stopped showing the status of my application and I haven't heard from them yet.
