I just can't look at my scan results

I am almost 12 months out of chemo now and got PCR. I was told low risk of recurrence - maybe 6% and felt lucky but I've been having back and rib pains and am convinced its back and spread. Although some days I have no pain at all and it moves around 3 areas with long gaps between it popping up again. Maybe its psychological. I've now made one area on my back so sore from prodding it (can't feel anything abnormal).

Anyway we got a scan last week, the results are sitting on mychart, they arrived yesterday and I cannot bring myself to open them. We have booked a big holiday for next week for 2 weeks and its going to ruin it and I won't be able to go because of the insurance and my kids wont enjoy it. I didnt get to go on last years holiday because of the wretched insurance. We've booked to go to Disney.

My head is saying wait until I come back from holiday because if its spread I am screwed anyway. I've just lost my best friend to TNBC - she was stage 1 and dead within 12 months of diagnosis. In all honesty, I am terrified

What do you wear to sleep in post mastectomy?

What do you wear to sleep in post mastectomy please?

Struggling as still getting loads of sweating post chemo - massive problems with thermoregulation and POTS. So I overheat a lot.

But I need support. I'm a side sleeper but no support at all hurts the upper most breast. A pillow wedge helps but overheats me.

I've been staying in my compression bra mostly but I dont think its healthy for skin to wear it 24/7

Any ideas as sleep is badly impacted

Does anyone else find their new foobs just odd?

I don't dislike them and this is not a complaint i just find them odd. Maybe because noone warns you about how strange they are compared to normal boobs.

Mine have cold patches on the outer upper quadrant one side and outer lower quadrant on the other.

I can feel it with my arm against ny side through clothes. Like freezing cold. I can't seem to warm them. Even a hot sweat or exercise has no effect.

I can't imagine its nice for my OH tho he barely touches them anyway. I suspect he is worried about doing so in spite of reassurances but they feel like cold dead things really so maybe he just prefers not to.

I dont hate them, appearance wise they look great in clothes, they dont look anything like the ones I see flaunted by 20 odd year olds on plastic surgery websites, and are covered in scars but at least I am still here so far and they are perfectly livable with just cold and a bit detached from reality.

Maybe this will improve with time. Maybe not.

Just wondering whether anyone else feels like this.

Still battling a million other side effects it feels but the cold is bothering me tonight. Will it improve or do I need to have heat pads installed in my pjs?

Immunotherapy continue or not?

I am halfway through immunotherapy and about to restart it after surgery and rads. It really terrifies me

Its already caused me to become hypothyroid which I am stuck with for good.

I had a weird skin reaction to it which needed 6 weeks of steroids to settle

And it caused my liver tests to go high but they have now gone back to normal

My oncologist says all of these things can come back or worsen and I can get more adverse events as I am higher risk for this since I've already had problems with it.

More adverse events include screwing up your kidneys, adrenals, pancreas, getting colitis, myocarditis, arthritis

I dont fancy any of these

I am still struggling with side effects from chemo and dont want anything else to deal with. He says if anything happens they will stop it but I know from the thyroid that once it has happened I'm screwed. Damage to pancreas and adrenals cannot be reversed.

But then I think if I dont take it and it comes back I am stuffed also and will regret it

Horrid dilemma
