Wondering if those of you who have gone through with amputation can comment on the cost. I’ve been quoted 10k CAD for a straight forward procedure in Toronto for a front limb/scapula amputation.

Just got some tough news from the vet that our nearly 7yo golden retriever has a fibroma (not malignant at least) on his front left paw encompassing 75% of the foot that is causing his toes to spread and is clearly causing him some pain on walks.
Vet said the only real option to resolve this is amputation.
We’re torn as what to do re: amputation versus keeping him comfortable. He’s healthy other than being a bit of a heffer.
Does anyone have experience with a front amputation with a larger dog? What quality of life would he have?
