How do you care for Vivienne Westwood pieces that say “do not wash” or “do not wash in water”?
Hi everyone,
I’d love to get some advice from other Vivienne Westwood owners about garment care.
I have a few pieces, particularly viscose shirts and Drunken-style shorts, whose care labels say not to wash or not to wash in water, and recommend dry cleaning only using a specific process that I’m not familiar with (see the photo of the care label).
I’m a little worried about taking these pieces to a regular dry cleaner without knowing exactly what process they use. With the unusual cuts and fabrics of Westwood garments, I’d rather be very careful than risk damaging them.
For those of you who own similar Westwood pieces:
How do you usually clean them?
Do you always use a professional dry cleaner?
Do you specifically ask for a particular type of dry-cleaning process?
Have you ever had a viscose or Drunken garment professionally cleaned? How did it turn out?
And do you have any recommendations for caring for these pieces between cleanings?
I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experience. I’d especially love to hear from people who have been collecting/wearing Westwood for a while.
