I give him comfy places to lie down—rugs, blankets, everything—but he still chooses the hardwood floor!

Yesterday, I noticed that he couldn’t use one of his legs. I was devastated and felt really bad because I had no idea how did that happen. We took him to the vet and got X-rays . The fracture seems to be on the right fibula (the thinner lower-leg bone). The vet gave him antibiotics and a painkiller injection after examining him. Has anyone dealt with a similar injury? What was recovery like?

The real context is, Hazelnut’s ears were cold so my dad was trying to warm them.
