Career options for switching out of a BA role (4y exp)?
Hey guys!
Fresh out of college in 2022, I got into this Business Analyst role in Bangalore. A year ago I was promoted to senior BA(same role with more responsibilities)
I work for a Saas Loyalty Company and as the name suggests we provide loyalty programs for many brands. I have experience in woking with Retail, Fuel and a bit of Healthcare. For the first 2 years I was mostly using my SQL, Excel skills to pull out data requests. Then I was given an entire market to look into. End to end, from delivering support and helping with their daily business needs(campaign analysis, data requests) to suggesting them what could be done better and periodical business reviews to new product recommendations and implementations. This is what I have done for past 2 years.
I’m not exactly good at responding fast enough and I also wait until the deadline to start work so I see this a huge problem to overcome. I freeze up in meetings sometimes. Though I’m an AI and tech savvy, its become too easy to get work done and I feel like its not challenging or exciting enough, other than the business reviews.
Thoughts on what can I next career step could be? I would really like to know what all are possible? FYI. I’ve been in the same company for 4 years now so.
I am super good with sql excel ppt and storytelling, i think i should still learn some tableau or powerbi because thats whats expected if i need to switch. So help on what other skills could i learn too. On a side note marketing does excite but I have no idea how to get into it
