All the dharmic traditions share a basic common framework that is termed as Sanatan Dharma. There are different religions in the world but it is only the dharmic traditions that is independent of influences of peope who are non practitioners as dharma is a technical subject that is propagated only by thise who are full timers in dharma, whose very preoccupation is dharma all one's life. This is why their actions correspond to their consciousness. This is why in the Indic traditions dharma is not a mere belief system but a lifestyle that matures into actual realization and attainment rather than just a belief. Hinduism has the Varna system that ensures that there is a varna dedicated full time to dharma so that they become the propagators of dharma not just practitioners as all the other varnas too are practitioners. Within Hinduism, within Brahman varna, apart from the grihasta dharma of Veduc yajna, there is the vanaprastha and sanyas dharma which is the Shraman dharma or Parivrajaka dharma. This dharma is another varna outside of the Varna rules and regulations as by entering Sanyas dharma, a Brahmana relinquishes and gives up his Brahmana grihasta dharma that is related to his varna. By giving up his varna he enters the dharma of a varnatith dharma. This dharma is a dharma of non attachment, complete renunciation of material possessions and of dhyana. It is based on this dharma within Brahmanism that led to the Shramana movement in the form of Jainism and Buddhism. These are dharmas based on Sanyasa or Shramana or Parivrajaka dharma of the Brahmanas. Many Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and others also became Shramanas or monks who practiced asceticism.

Thus, all Indic traditions follow dharma and strictly adhere to svadharma as per either the Varna dharma or varnateeth dharma i.e. Sanyas Shramana dharma. It doesnot confuse distinct dharmas so that through that dharma the Sanatana dharma is realized and attained so that that becomes the basis of a soteriological attainment.
