Toronto Paramedic Service
Hey everyone- I’m a US medic slowly working on license reciprocity and a visa to be ready to apply to work for TPS but was curious if those who work there could shed some light on what it’s like working there and their job satisfaction. From what I can gather it’s 12 hour shifts with a mix of days and nights, a fairly busy system with a good mix of calls, and a tiered response system with both PCP and ACP ambulances. The pay/benefits seem quite good as well but a lot of people mention burnout from the call volume so I’m curious about retention. Also curious what to expect as a new hire with no seniority in terms of what shifts I’d be placed on initially. Thanks!
