Haven’t seen anything about this movie on the sub and wanted to put it on people’s radar.
To preface, I’m a huge giallo fan, they were my introduction to horror movies as a teenager growing up partially in Italy. This started with a very scarring experience watching DEEP RED in a rural house (a lot like the one with the bathtub kill) and I’ve been hooked on them ever since.
I recently co-wrote and produced my first movie: EUGENE THE MARINE starring the legend Scott Glenn. It is heavily giallo-influenced - someone on Letterboxd described it as a blend of giallo and Hallmark movie (there’s a lot of John Hughes in there as well).
We shot it on 16mm to match that classic look and the score is unbelievable - you may think we licensed a Bruno Nicolai score but the themes are completely original and yes, a J&B bottle makes an appearance.
Here is our trailer, which is heavily inspired by Fulci’s masterpiece THE PSYCHIC and features an original track by Angela Aki, our composer.

The film does not currently have distribution but is available now until May 28th through an experimental 30 day release in the Letterboxd Video Store. We’re hoping to find a distributor for a larger release soon.

Love this sub and reading about all the obscure giallos everyone is discovering. Please keep posting!
