Hello, AI-assisted worldbuilders!
I made Worldkeep, a free, open-source worldbuilding plugin for Claude and ChatGPT/Codex.
I enjoy worldbuilding, but find form-heavy apps overwhelming. I also tried building worlds through natural conversation with AI, but as a world grows, it becomes difficult to track what is canon and how everything connects.
Worldkeep combines the two approaches: you describe your world normally, while the agent proposes structured entities and relationships. A small core schema provides consistency, but you and the agent can extend it with custom types and views.
You review the agent’s proposed changes before they become canon. Everything is stored locally as Markdown and YAML, and you can explore the result through an interactive graph.
Worldkeep does not impose fixed fantasy, RPG, or other predefined categories. That flexibility means the AI can misunderstand your intent, so you still need to guide the semantics and refine custom views.
It is an early release: Windows is tested, macOS and Linux are not yet verified, and there is no migration system yet.
I’m looking for people willing to try it and tell me what is confusing or unhelpful:
