Forming friendships and network during a 1 year MBA (vs 2 year MBA)

Hi all, trying to understand how people built friendships and a strong network from their time at a 1year MBA program.

They say in today’s day and economy, your network is your net worth so keeping all other factors aside, I’m trying to understand how those who are attending or have graduated from 1 year MBA degrees were able to build a strong network given the short span of the degree. Those who did a 2 year degree, do you think that the extra year is a big advantage or forming just as good a network is possible within a year too?

For example, schools like INSEAD, 1 year LBS mba, 1 year Kellogg mba, IE, Oxbridge etc all have 10-12 month degrees so how do you form a strong network, beyond just surface level socialising. And what if you spend part of that 1 year doing campus exchange or short term exchange to another school, then the time you have with your classmates reduces even more.

And also wanting to extend this question on forming good friendships, as if I’m good friends with someone I’ll automatically consider them a trusted part of my network going forward. Plus im someone who values friendships a lot so I’d want to build quality friendships for sure.
