For a few months I’ve had the following symptoms:
A pain in my stomach 1/2” - 1” above my belly button. I can press on that same spot and pinpoint the spot it hurts.
I told my doctor it feels like how bad anxiety feels (very familiar with that) but also a bit like how gas pain feels. Like a burning pressure, if that makes sense. I would say it’s overall in the 2 to 4 out of 10 on the pain scale most days.
Many times it doesn’t bother me much until I touch that location or shift in a way that it compresses that area a bit.
It’s come and go.
It feels better for a little while after I eat.
Anxiety seems to make worse? But it could also just be anxiety pain is in the same spot for me.
My bowel habits are pretty normal still. I would say diarrhea every so often? Averaged maybe once every other month? Last night is what triggered this post. I woke up at 3am with diarrhea.
I have historically suffered from anxiety and depression. I also recently came out of a severe episode of prolonged severe anxiety and stress. It’s gotten a somewhat better.
Just curious if this sounds familiar to anyone. I’ve gone to the doc and we did blood tests and all is well. I’m on antacids right now to start, and we reevaluate in a couple weeks our next steps.
One other note: when I tighten my abs and press I don’t feel the pain. So I do not believe this is a hernia.
