Is pursuing a master's degree abroad worth it?
I'm a BS Psychology fresh graduate from a Big 4 university. I am currently studying for the upcoming BLEPP to become a registered psychometrician, and I am considering taking up a master's degree in psychology or counseling abroad. For context: I chose psychology as a pre-med or pre-law undergrad degree—I was undecided at the time—but I have come to realize that I would much rather work as soon as possible than spend 4+ years in med school or law school, then spend more years establishing myself in either career. However, I am aware that a psychology degree does not lead to high-paying jobs. While I was a consistent Dean's Lister from 2nd year to 4th year, I fell short of any Latin honors because of my first-year grades, due to my poor mental state at the time (plus COVID). I have internship experience in Talent Acquisition (HR) at a well-known Filipino company, along with several organizational experiences, but I'm afraid that won't be enough to secure a high-paying job (which is ultimately the main goal here), hence my interest in pursuing a master's.
Aside from strengthening my background with a master's degree to secure a high-paying job, I would also like to work in a multinational company, and perhaps, somewhere down the road, live and work abroad permanently—though that's not a top priority right now. Any advice on my career path in general, and on the advantages of pursuing a master's abroad?
