PASSED FIRST TRY

I can’t believe I passed this test first try. For starters, I began working in a firm 9 months ago after a change in careers from healthcare to finance with absolutely NO background. When the opportunity arose for me to get my SIE, 7, and 63 I didn’t think I’d even make it past the SIE but here we are and one left to go!

I was scoring 76-78 average on my practice exams. The day before I made a 74 on Ken’s online and that freaked me out but I made a 79 on pass perfect Monday so I thought I’d be alright. I only took 7 finals bc I felt so unprepared in so many areas so the last 5 days before I just used YouTube.

I thought that Ken’s options membership wasn’t worth it bc I thought maybe ppl on here were just advertising but I bought it two weeks ago and let me tell you… IT IS WORTH IT. Those questions become guaranteed points. I spent all day Sunday drilling options bc I was nervous to get a heavily weighted options exam. THANK YOU KEN AND DTINNEY! As everyone says, the brutal exam is WORTH THE WATCH. I spent 3 hours on it bc I’d pause and answer the questions but it was so worth it. So many similar questions. I struggled understanding munis and investment analysis which I watched DTinney’s videos bc he gives such thorough explanations. Also shoutout to everyone in this thread YALL HAVE GIVEN SO MANY HELPFUL TIPS.

Lastly, I didn’t have many options but my exam was heavy on munis and taxation. Honestly not very difficult, I was about halfway through and even thought “I hope this is the right exam” bc I was expecting worse. I also felt many questions were asked a different way twice? Idk I kind of black out during these but everyone is right suitability, munis, tax, mutual funds are all huge. Quite a few questions on muni products like PAB, IDR, etc. Know your investments and walk in there with confidence and you can crush any draw given!!

Things on the exam you don’t recognize

Hi everyoneeee

I’m a week out from my exam so yk the nerves are ab to kick in. I’m doing the exams with a class at a firm and so far 2/5 have passed that already took it and we are using pass perfect. A common thing I see on here and from my coworkers is that there is a lot on the exam they don’t recognize. Can anyone kind of share their experience with this? I know to what concepts to expect but what exactly is it that is unrecognizable?

I usually get tripped up on wording so I’ve plan to use chat to create exams with difficult wording, achievable, Ken’s exams. Anything else recommended would be nice too. Thanks!!! Sorry in advance.. I’m about to post a lot over the next week lol.

How detailed is the test

Hi everyone,

Im two weeks out from my test date. Finished pass perfect content earlier this week and have take 2 finals. Not gonna lie, they have been brutal. Just a lot of new things I need to get down. Obviously pp goes into a lot of detail but I’ve been trying to focus heavily on reviewing munis, taxation (very weak area for me), cost basis adjustment (also weak), suitability, and options. But what I am wondering is, do I need to know these nitpick details about private placement, regulations, record keeping, etc. I made a 74 and 70 on the first two exams, but if there is anything else I should focus on pls lmk! Appreciate all the tips in this group! :)

Starting Series 7 Studies

Hi everyone,

I just took my SIE this morning and passed (whoop whoop). But now I’m onto the series 7, taking August 19 I believe. I use pass perfect and I felt pretty tripped up by FINRA wording compared to pass perfect’s on the actual test. I was also so nervous so maybe that’s why I felt tripped up. I supplemented pass perfect’s with youtube videos, certfuel podcasts, and SIE for dummies only because I have no background in Finance other than customer service and I really needed it broken down for me. I just wanted to know if there is anything I should heavily focus on getting down over the next few weeks? Or any other resources I should pull from other than what I have?

I’ve been told mixed opinions on using practice tests from different platforms. Some say to do that and grasp different styles of questions and others say not to do it bc it can throw you off from what you know.

Really any tips are helpful at this point lol

TEST TOMORROWWWW

hi everyone, I test tomorrow morning and wanted to see if I’m in a good place or hear some pointers. I’m currently scoring low 80s on pass perfect finals and this morning scored an 88. I took the Finra SIE exam on Sunday morning and made a 77. I know that sounds good but I’m ngl the wording of the Finra versus pass perfect kind of threw me off. Did anyone have issues with working on the actual SIE? I’ve heard it’s much easier than pass perfect but I am sooo nervous
