Frequent SVT episodes ~ awaiting ablation in June, any advice or support?
Hi sorry for the long post. I’ve been having heart problems for a while and was rushed to resus before Christmas with SVT (heart rate over 220 bpm). They terminated it with a vagal manoeuvre. Since then it’s continued intermittently; a 48‑hour ECG recorded 150+ episodes over two days, so I’m being referred for an ablation in June.
This Monday I was taken to A&E with SVT and very high blood pressure (about 180/120). I stayed around six hours and kept having very short episodes lasting seconds. I felt awful during and after. I’ve been prescribed beta blockers, but was told there’s nothing more they can do until the ablation. I will include a video of the heart monitor when I was having my episodes.
My employer has put me on sick leave as they don’t think it’s safe for me to be at work while this is happening. I’m struggling. it’s all happened so quickly and I haven’t had time to come to terms with it. I’m uncertain what I can and can’t safely do right now.
I’d appreciate any advice or support from people who’ve been through this,
Thanks in advance.
