Is an 11 inch head unit practical for every day use, or do they just look great in photos?
I keep debating on getting the large 11ish inch head unit. On paper it sounds useful for bigger maps, split screen capability,reverse camera, and actually being able to see the small UI units. But I’ve also seen installs where the screen looks like a tablet stuck to the dash, blocks vents, or sits at a weird angle.
The part I’m trying to figure out is whether screen resolution and UI layout matter more than the size itself. A 2K screen with decent widgets might be easier to live with than a giant low-res screen, but I haven’t used one long term.
For people who went from a 7-inch or basic double DIN to a larger floating-style unit, did it still feel good after a few weeks? Or did the size start to annoy you?
