Help with finicky eater

My cat Bo was diagnosed with diabetes and dka 3 weeks ago after being lethargic. After 3 days in ER, we are doing Lantus.

The real struggle is getting home to eat for his insulin. We went to vet 5 times in 2 weeks. Came home this weekend with cerenia injections. He has sniffed food and walked away. Vet said slight infection and gave him antibiotics by a shot. Pancreas readings looked good and no ketone.

I haven't been instructed to monitor levels.

Yesterday my hubby had to offer tuna, and last night after some coaxing he had some food. Gave cerenia at 9. Walked away from food until he ate some canned chicken at 1230 after some coaxing. We are trying to do 7am 7pm and it is out the window.

He refuses heated food, churro, baby food. Running out of options and money throwing so much wet food away and he rarely eats kibble when it was his diet pre diabetes. He just turned 13 and only showed signs late April of increased thirst.
