remove.bg is shutting down on Dec. 1, use your credit before it expires

Quick heads-up for anyone using remove.bg for fast background removals or batch processing:

remove.bg’s standalone site and self-service API are shutting down on December 1, 2026.

Here are the key takeaways from their official update:

  • Where it’s going: The tech is moving fully into Canva (web & desktop apps) for single and bulk image background removal.
  • Subscriptions: Active plans run until Dec 1, then end automatically. Unused annual time will get a pro-rata refund. Monthly renewals starting on or after Nov 1 will be free.
  • PAYG Credits: Unused pay-as-you-go credits expire Dec 1, so use them up before then.
  • Account Data: Download your usage reports/invoices before Dec 1; you won't have access after.
  • API Users: Self-service API requests stop on Dec 1. Canva is redirecting self-service API users to Leonardo.Ai (also owned by Canva). Enterprise API contracts are unaffected.

Storyboard reference image rejected in seedance, how to fix that?

I saw many creators are sharing seedance videos created with a single storyboard image, so I tried to create a story of saving a deflated rubber duck.

When I upload the reference image (the 8-panel storyboard), it says "creating your video…" but several seconds later, it says something like due to copyright restrictions, video creation failed.

As shown in the video, the still image doesn't feature real persons/faces, nor celebrities.

I also tried to revise the video prompts, removing expressions such as "blockbusters 3d animation" and re-upload the reference image, it still refuses to create a video.

My last solution was to remove the reference image, keeping only the text prompt, and it works.

Then as a result, the video won't have the same visual aesthetics as shown in the storyboard.

Anyone know where I went wrong?

Or maybe seedance just rejects a storyboard? It works for a single image (for instance, cropping out only 1 panel to upload as ref. image).
