I just upgraded to 5.1.12 because I knew Let’s Encrypt was coming. It’s great! No more hitting the router ip address like an animal :)
What other quality of life improvements is everyone waiting for?
I’m curious how devices interwork when they are using multiple matter versions. Are the relatively slow rates of matter protocol updates by the bigger smart home controller vendors like Apple and Google crippling the market?
For example if you’ve got an end device supporting a newer matter version than the matter controller. Does it simply fail to be recognised or do they connect using a lowest common denominator and the controller just ignores the new bits?
And if you add a third device like a phone into the mix supporting perhaps another version of matter - what does it get to see or do?
If the phone supports the same matter version as the device, but the controller does not, does the phone get to see everything?
