do you stop eating when you're full or stop eating when you're satisfied?

Secret third option: I stop eating when I get lazy to eat any more (a variant of stop eating when satisfied). I thought this was a healthier thing to do than 'eat until your plate is clean', but I look like a skeleton maybe because I don't eat enough in one meal, but then I get hungry a few hours later when it's not time for the next meal yet

Pool of applicants..?

Don't chance me, I have a question. I keep seeing stuff like 'oh the competition amongst Indians is really high because many people apply to t20s', but how does the intl country application really affect the chances of getting in? Do they compare you to other students of the same country and call it a day? I mean, within reason of course, after you have the 4.0 GPA and whatnot. I'm from singapore, so I would like to know how this affects me, especially since I am not from the 2 feeder schools (but I am in one of the 2 local ib schools)

what even is a hook??

Don't chance me, I'm in the middle of junior year rn and I always see everyone with a hook. What's serious enough to be counted as a hook? Must it put you at a disadvantage? I feel like I lead a pretty normal life like no financial aid, parents both went to college, Asian. Intl student asking btw, thanks. Also I have mid ecs, can I add in a few ecs from middle school (grade 7 and 8) because my country's school system is broken down into secondary school (grade 7 to 10) and junior college (grade 11 and 12), and secondary school is like one consecutive journey (it'd seem weird if I joined choir out of nowhere in grade 9, but really, I joined since grade 7.)

What ECs do colleges look out for?

It's my first time here and I haven't researched much so please be nice. International student btw

  1. ECs that are offered by the school (I take the IBDP, so this would be my various CASes and my leadership roles in them) vs. Signing up to volunteer at organisations regularly in my free time vs. Many one off events that I help out at

  1. Various ECs (doing everything under the sun) or Targeted ECs (eg. I am interested in Law or Politcal Science, so I am in debate and Society of International Affairs; both clubs partake in debate competitions or MUNs)

  1. More focus on achievements and competitions or volunteering and starting your own project?

What should I not do (N27)

As a n27 student who has 2 weeks left of break (I haven't completed my holiday homework, haven't revised ANY subjects at all, haven't found a microeconomics article for my econs 1st IA yet, haven't started research on my langlit EE...😭)

What common mistakes should I avoid? I know my procrastination is downright diabolical, and I procrastinate so bad that a few weeks ago, for my TOK mock exhibition, I didn't start it until 5 hours before the midnight deadline. Happened to a few of my science reports too.

Gimme some IB specific things I should or shouldn't do! CAS too because at the start of the year, I signed up for...like 5 but it was too overwhelming so i quit my activity, gonna find a new one soon. And my school has implemented a CAS points system meaning I cannot submit 'my enlightening morning walks which I use to reflect on my state of mind every day' as a CAS.

More info:

I take Bio, Chem and Econs HL, Math AA, Chinese B and English Langlit SL.

My math sucks (got a 3 for the first semester, overall for my first semester I got 34/42) I couldn't take math AI because. My school doesn't offer it. 💔 So I really need a 7 in math. And in dp1 (this year), they are making us take Chinese B exams so I also need a 7 for that unless I want to retake it again next year. My langlit EE is about romeo and juliet, as well as Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (the webnovel) so I'm not really sure what to do with that, other than the fact that I am really passionate about these 2 texts. But passion can only take me so far...

Last but not least, my school's average IB score has stuck around at 40/45 every year. Shucks I really don't want to 'lose' my academic weapon ability. I'm pretty sure my country's average IB score is also...uh...a 38 so I'm (un)realistically aiming for a 42 😐 Not sure how to study even, please HELP ME

checklist for college

Hello I am currently taking the IBDP (in the first year, N27) but was wondering what other tests I need to take in order to even be considered for US colleges if I apply the year after? I'm pretty sure I'll apply with my actual grades and not my predicted.

My school's average IB results for many years now has been 40/45, so let's assume that I also get that score. I see everyone with SAT exam results, but is that a must? What about the MCAT? I'm not interested in medicine but am interested in dentistry; would dentistry fall under a branch of medicine? And lastly, extracurriculars - what do elite US colleges look for, and what makes their accepted applicants so different from their rejected applicants?

saw a post asking for fashion advice (i need it too)

basically I saw someone's post titled 'how do I dress up' and I was inspired to ask the same! however, my conditions differ slightly which is why I had to make a separate post.

when I see all my friends dressed nicely and everything, they look really good, yknow? However, I stare down at my t-shirt (with childish cartoon characters) and shorts and yeah, it doesn't feel good. So, here is the state of my fashion rn:

  1. I'm female, but I know those tight-fitting tank tops with jeans and whatnot don't fit. It's not my style, and I feel uncomfortable wearing tight clothes, and also it looks a bit generic, to be honest. I usually dress androgynously even tho you can clearly tell I'm a girl but i try to even it out with clothes. (plus my very short hair! wolfcut btw) so no dresses, skirts, blouses or spaghetti straps.

  2. I already sort of have an idea of my fashion style, I'm good at layering outfits (in roblox and where winds meet 💀) but irl all those skills disappear because no nice clothes/accessories + no chance to experiment. for reference, I envision myself wearing those kpop male idol outfits, the ones that are layered nicely and not too fancy. Streetwear, perhaps? think cortis

  3. it's all in my head because idk where to find such articles of clothing eg. I've been trying to find baggy jorts but they're nowhere to be seen. and also, idk how to tell my parents that I have this rather unconventional style bc my mom keeps saying I'll look good in the tank top because I'm skinny or my dad asks me when they can see me in a dress (fahhhh) I only reserve dresses for important events that are max. once a year. Last time I wore one was for cosplay

help I'm tired of wearing berms and shirts that are not baggy enough and socks that I think are long only for it to reach just my ankles. only cool thing I possess are 2 pairs of boots, one flat and one chunky. and maybe a few cargo pants. the rest of my clothes are just meh, not enough pizzazz and make me look like secondary sch kids. dare I say that lower sec are definitely dressed better than me, yes..
