Hey. For context, I am supposed to be an incoming freshman this AY 2026-2027. I've read all the threads about the comparison of the 2 univs I mentioned. With all my readings, it brought me to the conclusion that FEU is a better choice than SBU. However, when I discussed this with my family, my older sister along with her husband (they were med alumni of NRMF, 10 years older than me, graduated batch 2014/2015, were top students, used to be active in the student council also) strongly discouraged me to go to FEU-NRMF. She said there were so many reasons not to go and told me I might will regret it. She told me to go to San Beda instead. However, I am also hesitant to go to San Beda due to the grading system (zero-based) compared to FEU (with curving, promo boards, etc) and also reasons from subreddits. I did weigh the pros and cons and chose NRMF however mas lalo akong na-discourage sa sinabi niya.. She even told me to take another gap year nalang at mag UERM or Ateneo next year, take my time to review ana, physio, etc or mag-work muna ulit. (May 2026 cycle ko lang kasi nakuha target PR ko which is 90+ so u get why yun lang choices ko)
I am turning 26 this year (I'm on my third gap year). Ayoko na po sana mag-gap year huhu
In all honesty, I am an average student (hindi ako kasing talino niya na honor student since kinder) which is why the grading system does put a toll on me. I just wanted to be a doctor na po talaga..
