Important update.

I found the Ayurvedic Doctor’s address. He is very famous in the city. He is a Government doctor with plenty of experience in the field. Unfortunately he is paralysed and retiring in 2 years. So hurry up. It’s completely free of cost. Just visit for main guy not for Jr. doctors. My brother went yesterday & enquired about whether anyone use to Visit this doctor for EC. They said plenty of people use to come here with this condition and it’s gonna cure. I don’t know how far we can believe this but i wanna try my bet on this.

Note: Do your own research too. I know some people don’t trust. So it’s completely upto you to visit him and give a try or leave it. But don’t blame me if you don’t get cured after using it. Even I don’t know whether it’s gonna work or not.

I found the hope for cure

I am not sure how far you believe I wanted to share something interesting (hopefully a cure ) that happened today and see if anyone else can go a there.

I spoke to a woman from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India who said she suffered from what appeared to be the same condition for about 4 years. She described the same thick white keratin buildup that she had to be wiped off every day, sometimes causing bleeding. She told me she visited numerous doctors without success.

According to her, an uncle eventually introduced her to a traditional oral (“nattu mandu”) medicine. She said she only swallowed the medicine for about 2 months and did not apply anything special to her lips except pure unprocessed white butter or makhan . She claims that after those 2 months, the white keratin completely stopped producing, and the condition resolved. She believes the problem was coming from “inside the body,” rather than being only a surface lip problem.

The reason why I believe her is i know her since my childhood like 30 years. My mom told me that she had the same issue. I called her today to see how she cured. I hope this will be a cure.

Because this thing won’t go away with proper English medicine. That’s what I observed after watching all videos and Reddit posts. Even though i am using UVB i can only reduce the inflammation to an extent but unable to control the inner lips part. It seems producing every day.

I strongly believe something from inside is driving this. But we cannot find it with the tests we had. Doctors don’t have any idea about this. I am sending my brother & mom to tomorrow along with the lady who cured from it to the same location with my pictures. Hopefully he will give without the patient.

This is the only meaningful hope i found after UVB in a whole year of my treatment. I don’t believe in any creams at all especially steroids.

Last stage of healing

Hi i am in last stage of healing. Like Jon M and EC chronicles other people on YouTube said. I am healing exactly how they described on YouTube.

Try UVB, cebelia LCE balm, cerave healing ointment & opzelura.

Note: the only you can heal is by not touching or making the lips wet at all for at least 3months to see 50% recovery. I am at last stage with just one line on both lips producing little line of keratin. It will go away once other areas are completely healed.

TRUST ME OR THIS PICTURES. Give a try but you must not make your lips wet at all even in shower. Do not wipe with anything.

3 Months of No hand peeling or wiping. Very to close to cure than ever

My Current Exfoliative Cheilitis (EC) Routine and What Helped Me
I am not a doctor, and this is not medical advice. This is simply my personal experience after dealing with exfoliative cheilitis for a long time.
My lip biopsy showed spongiotic dermatitis with eosinophils, which is consistent with an inflammatory/eczematous process. This is normal. And my Fungal stains and herpes testing were negative. Because of that, I focused on reducing irritation, protecting the lip barrier, and staying consistent with treatment.

Step 1: Rule Out Other Conditions First
Before assuming you have only EC, get evaluated by a dermatologist.
Make sure you do not have:

Fungal infection
Bacterial infection
Herpes
Allergic contact dermatitis
Other lip diseases that can mimic EC

If another condition is present, treat that first.

Step 2: Minimize Lip Contact
The biggest thing I learned is that constant contact seems to keep the cycle going.

I try to avoid:
Toothpaste touching the lips
Saliva pooling on the lips
Food repeatedly rubbing the lips
Lip licking
Picking or peeling
Excessive touching and checking
When brushing my teeth, I try to keep toothpaste foam away from the lips and rinse carefully.

Step 3: UVB Therapy
Every morning after breakfast:
Apply a very thin layer of squalane oil.
Allow approximately 5 minutes before treatment.
Use my handheld UVB device for 30 seconds on the lips.
Wait 15–20 minutes after treatment.
Step 4: Barrier Repair
After UVB:
Apply Cebelia LCE Baume.
Reapply throughout the day when needed.
Usually 1-2 times daily.
The goal is not to keep the lips soaked in product but to support the barrier when they feel dry or irritated.
Step 5: Eating
While eating:
Try not to repeatedly wipe, rub, or stretch the lips.
Avoid foods that personally trigger irritation.
For me, spicy foods often increase burning and inflammation.
Step 6: Night Routine
After dinner:
Use a damp cotton pad to gently clean the lips.
Allow the lips to dry naturally for several minutes.
Apply a thin layer of Opzelura then after 20mins if lips feel dry. Use cerave healing ointment or aquaphor anyone consistently.
Go to sleep and allow the treatment to remain undisturbed overnight.
Step 7: Stay Consistent
This is the hardest part.
I made the most progress when I:
Stopped changing routines every few days
Stopped peeling the keratin
Stopped testing the lips constantly
Stayed consistent for weeks instead of days
What Improvement Looked Like
Healing did not happen all at once.
For me:
The thick plaques became thinner
Keratin formation slowed down
The healing appeared to start from the inner lip and gradually move outward
The area where the upper and lower lips touch remained the most stubborn
I still have some minor peeling where the lips meet, but compared with where I started, the difference is significant.
My Current Routine
Morning:
Squalane oil
Kernel UVB 30 seconds
Cebelia LCE Baume
Daytime:
Cebelia LCE Baume as needed
Night:
Opzelura
Cerave or sometimes squalene oil. But mostly i use cerave it helps with regeneration.

The most important lesson I learned was that reducing irritation and staying consistent helped more than constantly changing treatments.

You job is to make sure your lips stay calm all the time. With no pain or discomfort or cracking

This is very hardest job in our lives. Use KN95 mask if you want to go out. Not fully covered. You must kept your nose not closed with mask. Because of humidity which is the Most Important factor to cure EC. For me the right temperature is 72-74 Fahrenheit is the best to stay warm for the lips.

Nearing the cure

I’ve been dealing with exfoliative cheilitis for several months and wanted to share the routine I’m currently trying in case it helps someone else.
My biggest issue is constant keratin formation, especially on the inner wet line and corners of the lips. I noticed saliva/moisture and friction seem to make the keratin reform much faster. Cold air, spicy food, and constant lip movement also trigger burning and thickening for me.
I previously tried multiple things together including Dovonex, UVB, Opzelura, heavy moisturizers, strict water avoidance, etc. After a lot of trial and error, I realized constantly changing routines was making it impossible to tell what was actually helping.

My current simplified routine is:
Morning / daytime:
Squalane oil before UVB
UVB phototherapy for 30 seconds
Cebelia LCE Baume 3–4 times a day as needed for barrier support/moisture
Night:
Opzelura or tracolimus — choose only one product not both for whole treatment (thin layer)

Things I noticed personally:
The thick plaques became thinner and smaller over time
The corners and wet inner lip are the slowest areas to heal
Spicy food definitely increases burning and keratin buildup for me
Constant checking/stretching/peeling makes everything worse
Completely over-drying the lips also backfired for me
I’m currently trying to stay consistent with one routine instead of changing treatments every few days. Healing has been very slow and uneven, but I do think reducing irritation and simplifying things is helping more than aggressively treating it from multiple directions at once.
