Obviously it depends on club form and who deserves it. But personally I think the following guys deserve a shot right out of the gate as they can bring an influx of younger, faster players that are still mature for their age and have the right mentality:

-Smit: This one is obvious. Especially until Simons comes back this team is in desperate need of a midfielder that is talented, creative, and willing to take risks.

-Poku: Feels like people are still hung up on his inability to finish chances in his first senior season at AZ. But he has done really well at Leverkusen in my opinion. Double digit goal contributions in the Bundesliga and works really hard. Obviously has unreal pace but also seems to have a good head in his shoulders.

-Read: Really mature talent. I love Dumfries but after yesterday’s performance it’s clear that he needs some competition for that attacking fullback role. If Read stays healthy there is no doubt in my mind he will become a top player. So good going forward, a great leader for his age, and improving defensively.

-Emegha: Another guy that just needs to stay on the pitch. He is already better than Weghorst in just about every way. Faster, more skilled, smarter on and off the pitch. Really hoping he gets a proper chance at Chelsea. This one seems like a no brainer as well.

As an honorable mention I am also interested to see how Rots fares in Germany.

I certainly don’t think that this team should lose its more controlled, pragmatic identity. But let’s be honest, it has strayed too far in that direction. With the players that are available in the midfield and back line there should be no problems controlling games and defending well even with a little more bravery going forward.

The frustrating thing is that they did just that against Sweden and Tunisia but for some reason Koeman throws it out the window when it matters most.

Dream candidates (Pep, Slot) aside, who would be the best choice for NT coach?

Players you would like to see get a chance in the NT between now and the Euros?
