Daniel and Toast

I've told the story here before, but I'll briefly go over it again:

When first we met our Garbage Truck Driver, he was afraid of dogs. Toast immediately loved him and the garbage truck, so we would stop our walk so Toast could watch. Toast would also and wag his tail the whole time.

Over the course of 6 months, Daniel went from being scared, to asking my dog's name, then tossing treats followed by handing them to Toast. Daniel is Toast's hero, and now Daniel loves him back.

We hadn't seen Daniel for a couple of weeks, and I was worried, but Toast was despondent. Every time we saw the replacement driver (we get pick-ups 2-3 times per week) Toast would cry when he saw that it wasn't his friend. He hung his head and turned around to go back home. Then, he'd get in bed and cry a little. Today's reunion was glorious and Toast was such a happy boy.
