question for more experienced electricians.
i’ve been an electrician for a couple years and found something i’ve never seen before. working on a remodel and when i took an outlet out, i got shocked by the neutral. i checked it with my ticker and it was reading hot. i went into the outlet feeding it and when i took that apart and tied the wires together it was no longer hot. what was causing that neutral to be hot without tripping the breaker?
