DISO: Regular Spider (and Mini Bean is possible)

Hi all!! I was really hoping BAB would restock the spiders online so I've been holding out. It doesn't look like they will, though, at least not soon. My local BAB is very tiny and didn't even order any because they have limited stock and need to make sure it sells and they didn't expect them to be so popular.

So if anyone's out there by a BAB that restocked and would be open to pick up, I would be down to pay $60 shipped for the regular spider and $70 shipped for the regular and mini beans!

Edit: Typo in title lol! Mini Beans *if possible!

Rockleton at work!

Got my sweet rocky boy at my local stockist this past Thursday! I'm an archaeologist specializing in stone tools so naturally he had to join me in the office 🪨

alien cow inspired by danisquishie on insta!

When I saw @/danisquishie's alien cow custom on Insta, I swooned. I had never dyed fabric before or customized a Jelly, but I had to give it a try and make my cow, Odie, the alien he was always meant to be. I wanted to show off this cutie, and here's my process in case it helps anyone else in their customizing endeavors!

What I Used:

  • One packet of Jacquard iDye Poly in Neon Green (with Color Intensifier that it comes with)
  • Stainless steel pot and a cooking spoon (for dyeing only!)
  • Safety eyes in desired size

The Process:

  • I unstuffed my cow's body using the factory seam on his back, but left the beans. I mostly did this so it would be faster drying
  • I followed the dye packet's instructions almost exactly, using the half hour boiling option. The tweak I made was lowering the heat to medium-ish about halfway through the 30 minutes just to be cautious of not damaging his eyes or anything
  • After cooking in his soup, I rinsed him with cold water in the sink then let him air dry for about an hour in the tub
  • I then towel-dried him with a few towels and blow dried him on low, intermittently using the cool air button. Drying took a longggg time, even mostly unstuffed, with his nose and horns taking the longest. I eventually let those air-dry overnight. Overall, getting him mostly dry took around 2 hours
  • I made a mark around an inch up from the eye and mostly in line with his horns for his new set of alien eyes, and used the hole still in his back to place the back of the safety eyes
  • I re-stuffed him and sewed him back up and he's ready to fly his UFO!
