Hey all! Hopefully this is flaired right, but I was talking to Vida at Chicago Grooming Co and she said she can make a batch of Polar Vortex in Darkwing base if there's enough commitment. Polar Vortex is an extremely cold soap that's been out of production for a bit, using both menthol and ws-23 (for longevity as well). Let me know if you're interested, and we'll see if we can swing it!

This month was an incredibly difficult one to judge. There were so many strong contenders, and a number of entries were SO LONG (looking at you u/Priusaurus 👀)

Hi all, just wanted to give everyone a heads up about a few side contests, so everyone has time to prepare for them! 1 is new, as of my knowledge, and 1 is a revival of one that many believed to be dead at the end of AA25.

1. **Arctic August**: some geniuses on discord suggested this side contest, and I am honored to host this year. Details will be coming, but know that it involves Frost Drops (or Permafrost, or Terrorade, or whatever cooling-additive solution you prefer). So be sure to have some on-hand for AA! There will be a super "cool" prize involved.

2. **Raw Hoggin'**: after the unfortunate news that last year would be u/EldrormR's final time hosting this essential AA event, I have received his blessing to host in his stead, as Underboss Hog. More details to come, but this side contest involves a brand new boar brush, so make sure to get one stocked and ready for this awesome event (just don't open the box yet!!). Though not quite as "cool", there is a prize involved for this event as well.

I'm looking forward to this Austere August with all of you!

My shenanigans apparently also inadvertently volunteered me to be the judge these as well, so that spells trouble for all of us. Since my shitpost radar still needs a bit of tuning, I'll be using my trusty Silly Goose Radar for this competition. Remember, winner gets a soap from Whole Hog Shaving Co!

I may or may not accept bribes. So shoot your shot! I also may be swayed slightly by democracy, so let your voice be heard if you think a particular goose is the silliest.

• A silly melodic, rambunctious young person of the male gender for being the first of many to combine lather in an attempt rig the games in their favor. Will it?
• A silly scientist donating a science lesson and a sunburned face to try to achieve the title of Silliest Goose™️
• This silly sap (well, more of just a poor sap) shaved with a handle-less brush!
• This silly goose called a Derby an aggressive blade... kelvin might actually win this whole thing
• This one gave me a cackle... the thought of Prius lifting a finger to help around the house! He probably is on discord all the time, ignores his kids, and leaves his wife unfulfilled... oh wait, maybe I'm thinking of someone else
• Yet another silly dino, because who doesn't love a second-hand vendor plug?

I think we have some work to do, people! Many of you have not yet been possessed by the Spirit of the Goose. Let your silliest goosery shine! I've been getting bored reading through all the bland and poorly formatted SOTD posts mixed with u/Priusaurus being dramatic. I expect some more top quality entries when I compile my next list.

In the course of standard Cocoapuff Silly Goose Shenanigans™️, it seems I've inadvertently signed myself up to post the June Event rules. First time rules poster, so please bear with me.

Since Lather Games has been moved to October, there is a hole in our hearts that must be filled with another silly wetshaving competition. As such, a few (or maybe 1) brilliant minds (verging toward "mad scientist" territory) over on Discord concocted a new event to fulfill our hopes and dreams. I present to you the "June Soap Challenge sponsored by Whole Hog Shaving Co. in partnership with Cremo" (I think we decided to call it, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong):

JUNE EVENT RULES

1. you get a point for shaving each day

2. If someone else shaves with the same brand as you, you get `n` points where `n` is the number of people using that brand for the day

3. If someone shaves with exact same soap as you you both get 0 points for the day

4. If you are the only user of a soap in the whole month you get 20 bonus points for the first use of that soap

5. Non-playing SOTDs count

6. A tub of the first release from u/hugbckt for the best shitposter.

7. A DIY custom flair for the winner

I think it was NDG who came up with the rules, so credit where credit is due (and blame, of course)

Each participant will calculate their own points, and post their previous day's score to the next day's SOTD (since points depend on what everyone else uses on a given day). Cheating is very much frowned upon, so don't do it. (ETA: see u/merikus's comment below for info about a portal that calculates points)

Feel free to make/do any side quests your heart desires. For example, since I believe I am too powerful and must be nerfed (keep your LOLs to yourself please), I'm self-imposing an additional constraint of JeJune, and limiting myself to using a single artisan/soap base. Feel free to be creative, and self-imposed knee-caps are absolutely allowed.

Also, remember to shave with Cremo at least once to spite u/tsrblke :)
