How competitive is WUE at Western Washington University?

Hi everyone! I’m a Colorado parent looking ahead to college for my daughter, who will be starting her junior year of high school this fall. She has a 3.7 GPA and has become very interested in Western Washington University.

The biggest question for us is cost. We would probably need the WUE scholarship to make WWU financially realistic for her.

I’ve seen that some WUE-participating schools are fairly generous with the number of students who receive WUE, while I’ve also heard that WWU can be much more competitive.

For anyone familiar with WWU, especially current students, parents, or recent applicants:

  • How competitive is WUE at Western?
  • Is a 3.7 GPA generally competitive for consideration?
  • Are there other factors that seem to make a significant difference?
  • If she’s interested in WWU, is there anything she should be doing during junior year to improve her chances?

She really likes the idea of Western, so I’d love to hear from people who have gone through the process. Thanks!

A question about Boise from a parent of a left leaning daughter considering BSU

I originally sent a DM to someone who had posted on here asking about LGBTQ-friendly coffee shops because I figured they might have a good perspective on Boise. But I realized I’d really like to hear from more people who live there, so I thought I’d ask the broader Boise community.

My youngest daughter is considering attending Boise State, and we're trying to get a better feel for what it’s actually like to live in Boise as a college student. We’ve only been to Boise a couple of times with her soccer club so we really don’t know the city beyond that.

We currently live near Denver and are a pretty left-leaning family. My older daughter initially chose a small university in Iowa because she wanted to play soccer, but transferred to Colorado State after one semester. A big part of her decision was that she realized she didn’t enjoy living in a more conservative state, and her university itself ended up being more conservative than she expected.

That has me wondering about Boise. I know Idaho is a very red state politically, but I also realize Boise might be different from Idaho as a whole. I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who are left-leaning, or who have college-aged kids, about what Boise actually feels like day-to-day.

Does Boise feel like a place where a politically left-leaning college student can feel comfortable and find her people? Is there a reasonably strong progressive/socially liberal community around BSU? And are there aspects of living in Boise that someone coming from the Denver area might find particularly surprising, either positively or negatively?

I’d really appreciate honest opinions, including from people who might have a different political perspective than we do. We’re not looking for someone to convince us Boise is a good or bad choice; we’re just trying to understand what life there is really like before she makes a pretty big decision.

Thanks!

Staging companies?

I have a stager that I normally use but unfortunately she is out of town for a few weeks. Any recs on staging solid staging companies that don't break the bank?

Exit warning and front park sensors?!?!?

Help! Like many others, I was quoted about $1,500 to replace the two front parking sensors on my 2025 VW ID.4 Pro S Plus.

After reading several success stories here on Reddit, I bought two replacement sensors on eBay and swapped out both front sensors myself. The installation went smoothly, but I'm still getting the exact same warnings:

"Exit Warning System is Currently Not Available"

"Front Park Distance Control is Not Available"

Has anyone run into this after replacing the sensors?

I saw one post where someone said the aftermarket Bosch sensors didn't work and they had to use OEM VW sensors. Could that be the issue, or is there something else I should be checking first? I'd hate to spend a few hundred dollars on OEM sensors only to find out that's not the problem.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
